"Rain dance does the trick - but washes out African music festival"

Contact your local Rain Dance Specialist, who will produce the required levels of rain to ensure that the slugs emerge into the open spaces of your garden.

Provide your own spade and slit each slug squarely into 2 pieces.

n.b. Please empthasise to the Rain Doctor that they shouldn't overdo it, as they did in forcing the abandonment of the music festival, mentioned above.

The slugs won't re-offend.

Oh damn, there is always a flaw in the solution...........Ducks are nice! specially Indian runners but cats...Yuk, their nasty claws say it all unless there's a solution to getting "RID" of the pesky cat, I mean what does the cat offer other than a howling chorus at god awful times plus nasty sh*te in our gardens.

See really it's the cats fault you have the slugs in the first place.

*Here kitty kitty....*

We are having this problem too. I have discovered that our washing machine has been leaking at the back and that's what has attracted them. I put slug pellets in the cupboard yesterday and have picked out 3 so far.

As already mentioned. look out for any damp. xx

We def have a damp problem that the landlord is going to fix so maybe once that is done it will sort itself out.. We put more salt down yesterday (used the entire container actually) and they have been back overnight, all over the cupboards, up the drawers, slime left all over the tea towel .. it is gross!

On the weekend am going to pull the kitchen apart to see if I can see where they are coming in from..

dulwitch - will put some pellets throught he cupboards too and see if that helps..

This has happened to me with two different flats, the first was in the kitchen, leaky pipes, the second in the corner of the living room, where outside was a leaky down pipe, which was soaking the outside brickwork. As a result slug- gate saga number 2 occurred, i thought i was dreaming, NOT AGAIN!!!! we screamed, so yes i second the theory that water is the blame. In the mean time get your land lord to hire you a de-humidifier to dry out the damp, whilst he is preparing for the work to get done. Its a fan like machine which absorbs damp, which can lead to mould etc. However be careful as with some of them, your not allowed to be in the room when some of the more industrial machines are running. But it worked a treat with the living room.

It may help a little to know your not alone with slug- gate!

We had this problem a couple of years ago when we installed a wooden floor. They would come up through the little gap between the flooring and the skirting. We put salt along the skirting board every night and they didn't come back. Last night, however, we had two trying to slither through the gap under our back door. The rain seems to bring them out. I have a constant battle with them at my allotment but the organic pellets I use are quite effective. Squelched one between my fingers once when weeding which still makes me shudder when I think about it.

    • Many years ago, I actually cooked a meal for all who wanted to come ….. In this day and age, with social media being in our faces..yes, I don’t live in ED, but visit,  why doesn’t Christian spirit happen? I would think, few people even know their neighbours…. Life, busy etc. We all live in one world..human kindness is all around..In a city, people are scared to make human contact, especially when who knows what might happen. Can clearly remember, coming back in summer with friends,  side door had been jimmied.. nothing was taken from inside.. When I lived in ED and when I visit, it is Me who starts a conversation.. never know where that might lead, or in deed where it might take one.. Notice my post, in general did not have response I was hoping for .. that is fine.. So, Will start again, and ask personally.how can I thank or make a donation to keep forum going.. We should be proud, to have a forum like this..
