Here's what happened

Emily: (referring to Charley dancing/pushing her hips forward) You pushing it out you n****r.

Nicky: (shocked laughter) Em, I can't believe you said that.

Charley: You are in trouble.

Emily: Don't make a big thing out of it then. I was joking.

Charley: I know you were? but that's some serious shit, sorry.

Emily: Why?

Charley: Oh my god. I'm not even saying it.

Nicky: Just don't talk about it anymore.

Emily: I was joking

Charley: Do you know how many viewers would watch that?

Nicky: Okay, don't make a big deal out of it.

Charley: Fancy you saying that. I can't believe you said that.

Emily: Somebody has already used that word in this house.

Charley: No way. (Pause) Yeah, me. I'm a n****r.

Nicky laughs.

Charley: I am one. Fancy you saying it. I know maybe you see it in a rap song. Maybe you and your friends sit there saying it.

Emily: I'm friendly with plenty of black people.

Nicky: And you call them n*****rs?

Emily: Yeah and they call me n*****s. They call me wiggers as well.

Nicky: I'm quite shocked.

Charley: I'm fucking in shock.

Emily: It's not a big deal though is it?

Charley: Not for us it ain't. Fuck me.

She said it at 8.30pm and got lobbed out at 3.30am.

7 hours of reaction deliberation and tension.

Channel 4 have obviously milked it to the max whilst maintaining a whiter than white (no pun) approach.

I like the way Charley and nicky both said it afterwards. Reminds me of the stoning scene in Life of Brian. "Jehova Jehova. I'm about to be stoned to death how can I make it any worse for myself?"

Awesome. Did you check the Kersal vs Persil response? Really funny and unlike the original it's intended to be so.

F*ck peace!

    • How will you vote at the Spring Conference when they put forward their motion that it is "racism" for Jews to want to live in a sovereign state on their own ancestral homeland?
    • I'm sure one can always find things which a party or an individual within it could have done better or shouldn't have said. If one was going to use those things as a reason not to support the party, one would never support any party, and would never vote. So far as I am concerned, the Greens represent my views on most issues better than any other party that I am currently aware of. I really am not interested in dissecting the details of one or two specific instances,  for many reasons, not least that I have no direct knowledge of them and don't know what may be a reliable source.
    • Was it the promise to act as a "strong voice" for Muslims that sealed the deal? The Green Party hired Abi Wilkinson from the Sultana wing of Your Party just before the Manchester by-election. She's on record as denying sexual violence during the 7 October 2023 attacks on Israel by Hamas, which is not true. I wonder if she was also responsible for the dodgy text of the Urdu and Bengali comms the Green Party pumped out in the last days of the campaign? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_and_gender-based_violence_in_the_October_7_attacks https://www.reddit.com/r/ukpolitics/comments/1rhrd36/fury_as_green_party_spin_doctor_denies_women_were/
