I was thinking that it might be interesting to have an EDF internet radio station, who would be up for that ,and who would i need to talk to in the Admin of the EDF to make that happen?

Also would you listen to it, and what ideas would you have for content, what would you like shows to be about?

I think there is enough going on to get something going, there is a lot of live music and stuff going on in dulwich and alot of interesting debate that could be had.I for one would be prepared to do the leg work as I have some experience in these things but what I would need is a general idea from the forum if it would be supported.

just a thought.

Does Ian have a long tongue, the oldies like tongue.

This was done on the Sydenham forum and it was an immense success in it's opening week but people got frustrated at not being able to get the opinion/cheap shots across and it was eventually abandoned.

is this sydenham?? I think there is plenty to enjoy in Dulwich and alot of funky people who DON'T live for cheap shots and opinions, there are alot of aspects to the forum other than the lounge discussions, there's promotion of gigs unsigned/ bands, bands ,poets and lots of other community/family projects and interests. I dont believe it will fall apart with negativity because if I thought it was that, that was at the root of Dulwich I would never have moved here to start my family.

Thats not to say it won't be without its challenges though.

Good luck Ian................hear you on the airwaves ( in between hugs & boning for a family )

hahaha, Cheers.

Well there's worse ways to spend a life!

Funky people?

Iain. You've flagged some interesting proposals and at the end of the day, who am I to judge seeing as I have no experience in the experiment you're proposing but can you please refrain from using the word 'funky' to describe some of the people you see wandering about Lordship Lane or falling out of the Bishop.

Don't do that either. I have enough trouble reprimanding the character Tony.London Suburbs for his shameless use of emoticons. I suppose one of the benefits of an east Dulwich radio station is that I wouldn't have to put up with the smiley faces.

"Dya know wolfy I hope there is a dire band called the smiley faces out there with the worst track.Because finding it and dedicating it to you on my first show would be a good gag,I doubt if i am that lucky though. hehe"

You never know Iain. I couldn't find a band that go by the desired name but I did the decent thing and found a song of the correct title. Enjoy.

Cheers that is quite a good tune! well discovered, I will ad it to my youtube favourites!! Since there only seems to be 5 of us interested in a radio station enough to talk about this thread and no positive input except mine maybe its time to put it to bed.

    • But is it the Village councillors who are maintaining the board, or someone else? When the boards in East Dulwich were installed, it wasn't the councillors who kept the information up to date, it was Monica from Health Matters, who was greatly involved in various  community matters (eg the building of the community garden at what was then Dulwich Hospital). I can't remember if it was her who initiated the installation of the boards in the first place. She no longer lives in East Dulwich, and nobody else appears to be willing to liaise with the councillors and community related organisations  to take this on for the various East Dulwich boards.  It would hardly take much effort. Basic information doesn't frequently change (and no, I'm not volunteering. I am overstretched as it is). It's all very well to  get a physical  community notice board spruced up, but not much use if it then isn't being used for its intended purpose. And I can't see that it is part of a councillor's job to update notice boards which they didn't initiate in the first place. I'm sure they have more than enough to do.  The notice boards serve (or did do) a useful service, but all the information which could be put on them is surely available elsewhere. (Unless it is bringing to people's attention things which are of use/interest to them and they weren't aware they needed/would like, or didn't know how else to find the information). ETA: Oh. I've just read the beginning of this thread. I'd forgotten how it started. It's gone well off topic, hasn't it. Probably just as well, reading the OP.
