I like the fact that it's not explained, far too much explaining of gags and pith going on in the world for my liking, it is what it is.

Chener is an utter joy to have around and John is thouroughgoing good egg in my estimation.

If he has a fault, it's that he's a Seinfeldian 'low talker'.

Either that or I'm getting deaf. Now I think about it people are starting to complain at the volume I keep the telly at.

So, could go either way.

That's really good news. It's all very well for regulars to be fond of Chener and its scruffy old sign, but at the moment it doesn't look like what it is, which is a mainstream local bookshop. If a smart new sign and a better window display makes people go in there and buy books whom otherwise might have passed by, then all the better for the business.

    • I’d also recommend Paul for electrical work. He came round the other week to help us out with a handful of jobs (installing an SPD, new light fittings, installing a dimmer switch, a bathroom fan). His quote was cheaper than what I got from others, he turned up on time and he got the job done quickly.
    • We’d like to add our recommendation for Lukasz and team at L&L Building & Maintenance.  Lukasz has recently installed a roof terrace for us, and we’ve found him a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We contacted about a dozen recommended builders and found his quote very competitive. During the build his team delivered quality work, they were no hassle in the house at all and they kept the place tidy every day. The terrace looks great, and we’re very happy customers. What stood out in particular was Lukasz’s responsiveness, right from discussing quotes to follow-up during the build. Lukasz often checked in and was always available when we needed him.  We’ll definitely contact Lukasz again for future building work and we’d happily recommend him to others looking for a reliable builder.   Lukasz Kugaczewski L&L Building & Maintenance 07926651960 [email protected] www.landl-build.com
    • Yes, I did mention the train, which I now get from East Dulwich to Guys instead of the 40. Depends where in East Dulwich you are starting from which route is easiest! I think it is probably lack of staff rather than lack of hospitals which is the problem?
    • What can be done? How about reporting it to the police?
