I know this is a slightly strange request, but I'm looking for some mulberry leaves for an art project thingy I'm doing. Anyone noticed any mulberry trees in our local parks or have one in their back garden? They'd be fruiting around now. It's the big, almost heart-shaped leaf I'm after, with a slightly zigzag edge (sorry, sure there are technical horticultural terms for all this...).

Thank you!

For anyone interested there's a fascinating map available of 'Remarkable Trees in Dulwich' produced by the Dulwich Society's Trees Committee. I think it should still be available from Brian Green's stationery and art shop - 29 Dulwich Village from memory. There was an article about the Dulwich Picture Gallery Mulberry in the Summer Edition of the Dulwich Society Newsletter: Dulwich Society Newsletter - Mulberry Tree

Wow, there was me thinking they were quite rare, especially in London. They're everywhere! Will go out hunting for one this weekend. No worries about the fruit, reetpetite, I've eaten mulberries before and they're very bitter (OK in jelly) - but it's just the leaves I'm after now.

Thanks very much, all.

    • if anyone believes Reform is a party they can trust then they really don't need to be insulted by me - they are doing all the damage themselves If people don't like the state the country is in they should question why Farage fought for Brexit and why it continues to damage the country so much. He and you will splutter it wasn't done properly but if you can't see the contradictions I can't help you
    • It's not incredibly difficult to understand that people vote Reform because they don't want the Tories back and they don't like Labour and they don't like the state the country is in. It hardly makes them "criminally negligent" - in fact, Sepiroth,  you can just stop insulting people just because you don't like what they have to say - it doesn't really add to your credibility. While Sep says "What the country needs is a serious, mature electorate", what the country REALLY needs is a party that we can trust - and that we do not have.  There is no point at all in having a serious and mature electorate if we don't have a serious and mature party to get vote for.
    • mine's the same - use shears, then mow, but I only do a part of the lawn - the rest is covered in daisies, violets and other flowers, so I leave it. I have to be very careful though - we have slow worms
    • I'm watching a neighbours lawn where the grass is hourly increasing in height .Wondering how on earth they are going to tackle cutting it .
