I went to the EDT, but then veered to the Mag to see some guy called "the Great Miller Anderson" who was a blues guy who had apparently played at Woodstock.

I don't think you were there Sharon. Most people there seemed to be old enough to have actually been at Woodstock.

I'm pleased to have experienced live music in ED for the first time Sharon - It's something I miss these days but great to see something live on Lordship Lane. Def something we were missing. (better than karaoke probably).

Prince Albert i have not been to yet, but might make it there for the 6 nations rugby.

This is the best Dad's club so far, (because Quids is in bed already).

I'm drinking my way to oblivion - Lidl are so annoying, sometimes their wine is amazing, sometimes (as tonight, bronze award winning Dornfelder - Germans must have low standards) shite. News on telly is v. boring. Had a moment watching Eggheads when I swooned over Roger Black's forearms.

Nothing to do but count sunflowers.

Eh - no more thumb twiddling Quids - lets have an online headwetting. I had no beer in, but another mum from our original NCT group delivered a surprise homemade curry and 2 stellas to my door! how about that, fantastic.

Needless to say anyone can join in, Quids may be busy changing nappies.

I just drink nothing in November, and feel then I can drink like Shane MacGowan the rest of the year and expect that people will only remember November.

Whereas - its really me that can only remember November.

Just finishing the 2 stellas kindly donated by the NCT Mum and will move on to my christmas present from my wife, opened early, the 12 year old Strathisla......

Why do woman keep giving me alcohol. In fact the lady who brought the curry and the beers round said she did not feel she could stretch to the stripper as well. Do I come across that much of a lad?...

I'm just trying to cut down a bit more. I've gone from going out almost everynight pre-kids and being a big big drinker to about recommended units and i'm now pushing to try and get below that! The kids have saved me to be honest as I think what I used to put away and for how long as I'm an old dad!!!!

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
    • That was one that the BBC seem to have lost track of.  But they do still have quite a few. These are some in their 60s archive. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0028zp6
