Absolutely FredCasa. In more than 20 posts above, you are the only one that has referred to the massive ideologically driven upheaval the NHS has been undergoing since 2012. We are now beginning to experience the fall out.

I have been with the FHGP for 30 years, and have only very recently had difficulties similar to those mentioned.

I went to the meeting last night, and all these grievances were discussed, with positive outcomes. Look out for the minutes on the website in due course, and please consider attending the meetings in future.

The predominant reason for the 'drop in ratings' (very trip Advisor) is recruitment. Not in small part due to massive workload. When the previous manager left in January to take up another position, it took until late this year before a non-temporary manager was appointed.Similarly it is very difficult to recruit GPs. And here we are back to the 2012 act, NHS England et al.

My son is registered there and I have had a mixed experience. The clinical staff are great, the midwifery team superb and on the whole the practice staff are ok. They've always been accommodating when it comes to booking an appointment but there is certainly room for improvement. One example was taking my little one in as a one year old and having to wait for over an hour as the reception staff had forgotten to let the practice nurse know we had arrived.

I understand that there are thousands of contributing factors to the difficulties faced by GPs. Not least that the NHS simply doesnt have the capacity to truly be a health service. It's become an illness treatment service.

Having spent a fair amount of time working in the NHS over the last year, I can also say that I've been surprised by my experience of GP focus being so heavily weighted toward renumeration and financial incentive as opposed to patient care. I won't say that's the case everywhere as that would be unfair but from what I've seen in one specific borough it certainly caught me off guard.

    • My car was stolen a few months back from my driveway but I had a tracker and found it in a private car park in Lavender Hill close to the police station. I was lucky. The thieves hide it up against that eventuality. High spec cars are targeted I'm afraid. The way it was stolen required the thieves to wire in their own computer accessing a front light (which had had a metal sheet welded across which they prised off). They had searched for a tracker but not found it. They also had to cut away a steering wheel lock. They had to come well tooled up and briefed to do what they did. Beating them off is non trivial. As I said, them not finding my tracker was just lucky.
    • Been with The Gardens now for around 30 years and very rarely do I have a problem. I went in to collect a form and mentioned that my leg was hurting and hot- was seen immediately by the Practice nurse who then arranged an appointment on the Saturday with the Extra care service at TJ Centre where I saw a doctor, who then sent me off to Kings for further tests.. I recently booked a flu jab but appointment is in 2 weeks.
    • Have used Milk and More for years. When the price went up we cancelled a couple of pints but we still have 8 pints a week. If we are expecting family etc we buy from Sainsburys to top up. We kept on with M & M as if weather bad we could order extra stuff from them to save us a trip to Sainsburys Local. Also gives employment to our milkman.
    • Hi there, Our Lexus NX300H, (reg RF18BWO) was stolen off our driveway last night, Monday 27th October. It was there at 9pm, and had gone by 7am. If anyone has any footage on their doorbell or Ring, that would be super helpful. We have asked some neighbours and reported to the police etc.  Most upsettingly, there was a box of old family videos in the car boot, in an old Sainsburys box (photo attached). If anyone sees these dumped at the side of the road, please contact me asap! They are priceless videos that my deceased grandparents took. Thank you for any info, Jojo
