What's happening with the "Rose" Pub

Does anyone know what is happening at the "Rose"? I have been passed the pub a few times in the last two weeks and a sign outside says "closed for a private function.

I wondered the same on the weekend, popped across for a pint.

I hope it hasn't closed down, thought it was a great pub.

Even though the bar staff always struck me as friendly and welcoming, the place always seemed a bit soulless. Not sure why. The large size? The decor? The lack of customers?

Yes, we wondered the same. Real shame if it has - we liked it and could never work out why it was so quiet! Agree Bobbsy, that was half the appeal!

Thats the old capital pub company - Bishop, victoria, actress et al

now metropolitan branch of green king.
