I faced my Glastonbury demons and paid for a ticket in 2004 and 2005. It was excellent. Although somewhat lacking in crusties, hippies and broken bones (thankfully!)

I went 2003/4/5 - first blistering hot, second a good mixture but the last was the best, absolutely pissing down with folk mud-sliding, water going into the top of my wellies, and looking like a pig in sh1t and actually being as happy as one!! I discovered that I loved mud and getting really dirty!! OH HAPPY DAYS:))
But how will we know you and how will you know us? it's all rather mysterious on here (and maybe I like it that way). for all you know I might be the old black lady who's always in there, talking randomonly at all and sundry (but mostly to herself). I saw your quiz thread and was mulling it over but being absolutely terrible at them, it's not that tempting to me. Mr Damzel (love it!) however would save the day if there were lots of music questions and sums (sounds fascinating doesn't he). But to drag us back on topic, if you guys are going to Glasto then I think perhaps we could come and say hello... is there a code word we should mention loudly as we're lurking around the place?

Ah Damzel the age old conundrum of the newbie - I remember it well meself....

As someone going to both Glastonbury (on topic!) & the quiz on Wed (probably) I would encourage you to come along and meet people. You won't be on your own on a quiz team and 99% of people go to quizes for the social aspect anyway

Nice spot there LadyG

I have seen the film and it's very unusual to not have any commentary but some great moments

For those going it's entirely possible you have already seen this but it's a good time to compare who is on and when

    • Sue said "But I'm sure the silver tongued Keir Starmer will be able to smooth things over. Not to mention the King and Queen 🤢"  Starmer dithers and is unable to make any decision and when he finally does he gets in massively wrong and duly backtracks. The guy is a liability and clown who the country needs rid off before he taxes us to heaven whilst bankrupting the country.  And as he's flying in and around Windsor for two days, I do hope they've got the skies covered as he's a sitting duck.
    • I assumed that the noise was from Heathrow planes - until the power outage in March that brought everything to a standstill. I still heard plane noise during that time - seems like it's City Airport planes. I wonder whether flight times and patterns can be adapted during the early hours before 6am to minimise noise pollution (e.g. slightly later times and not flying so low).
    • I was replying to Jazzer, who said it wasn't going to change Trump's presence here. However, you are also obviously right, and also  nothing will change Trump for the better. And yes, this could be counter productive. But I'm sure the silver tongued Keir Starmer will be able to smooth things over. Not to mention the King and Queen 🤢  I think it's right that people should feel able to make their feelings known. It appears to be  a peaceful and well planned demonstration, and presumably they won't be bringing out the Baby Trump inflatable again, which must be well deflated by now.
    • Its a few years ago now, but I organised my end of year prom (for year 13) at Off the Cuff in Herne Hill - was on the cheaper side to rent and at that age, felt very cool and clubby. I had my own 18th at Whirled Cinema in Loughborough Junction but I'm not sure if they take event bookings like that anymore
