South East London's finest designers and makers come together at the Christmas Anerley Craft Fair, taking place at Anerley Town Hall on Saturday 5th December. Fiercely independent, it?s the perfect place to shop for those unique presents, with over 40 stalls featuring everything from artisan jewellery, clothing and artwork, through to upcycled furniture, home decor, and children's gifts. Seasonal Christmas goodies will also be on sale together with truly one-off buys like the 'Penge-uin' hot water bottle covers and gifts made from upcycled bicycle parts!

Throughout the day, drop in workshops for kids and adults in lino printing, illustration, cake decorating and making Christmas decorations will let you get stuck into your own craft. Also bring a cake along to enter the annual cake competition!

With street food stalls, a teashop, mulled wine and music from gramophone DJ Rose Bartlett, this festive fair is one not to be missed! Directly opposite Anerley Overground Station (on a direct line from Forest Hill/Sydenham) and a 10 minute walk from Crystal Palace station (direct from Peckham Rye/East Dulwich station). Between 12-4pm. FREE ENTRY.

    • These neighbours dislike trees period. They refused to have lost trees replaced by the Estate on our communal green. They don’t like the leaf and seed droppings. These make the grass look ‘messy’. Similarly, they don’t like my policy of leaving the tree leaves where they lie on the grass verge - hence chopping the overhanging branches. It’s like living in the 1950s. My neighbours have three gardeners with leaf blowers who come twice weekly to remove every leaf from their front lawns. Their grass is cut weekly and all the  cuttings put in multiple brown bins. It’s an outdated mindset of the moneyed classes in my view. But sadly, I’m very much in the minority.
