structural engineer recommendations

Does anybody have any recommendations for a local structural engineer, who can give us some input on our side return extension. Thanks

I have two engineers I use for drawings for when we need calcs for extensions were down to build. Do you have drawings yet? I know two decent architects too for thorough plans. I'd get your design first. This informs the beams you need.

You should check that any structural engineer is professionally qualified and registered with the Institution of Structural Engineers. Unlike architects, structural engineer is not a protected title so essentially anyone can refer to themselves as a SE without any qualifications. Chartered Structural Engineer IS a protected title (as is Incorporated Eningeer) so ask fir CEng MIStructE or IEng AMISTructE

Check that they have up to date Professional Indemnity Insurance too...
