I actually think European teams get a bit of a raw deal in terms of World cup qualification. Only 13 teams represented and one of them only because they are the holders. 5 teams qualify from Asia/Oceania. I don't think this is balanced. Some very good European teams have not qualified for the world cup because of the stringent and competitive qualifying process. Apart from Ireland, Russia, Turkey, Romania, Croatia and Sweden. All teams with good pedigree.
Back of standard tonight Henry says there should be a replay (cos he cheated )but thats easy to say now that the French and FIFA have said no. This is his way of getting himself off the hook i guess. Statement reads like it was written by a lawyer. Pfft.

And the Germans have just appealed against the 1966 result on the basis of the ball not being over the line. They have about as much chance of success.

I'm beginning to side with Roy Keane on the FAI. All this; please, its not fair, stuff is pathetic.

As Roy Keane quite rightly pointed out, when Ireland got the benefit of a VERY dubious penalty decision against Georgia, you didn't hear any calls from the FAI for a replay then, and it was that penalty which put Ireland through. So enough now please.

    • If it was limited to a couple of days a year, so we all knew, that would be fine. In the last few years (and it is a recent thing) you get random fireworks going off any time after dusk for half the year. It does more than cause problems for pets and wildlife- it can mean lasting damage and massive expense and hassle for pet owners. All because some get a buzz out of loud bangs.
    • Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.
    • I made sure to set off a few today just to rile you guys up 😇😂 Always looking for something to criticise
