Does anyone know if Ewan McGregor lives in East Dulwich or our environs? I ask because I have seen someone who looks suspiciously like him drinking in The Clock House and the Herne Tavern.

If it's not Mr McGregor then this bloke looks like some other celeb (I said Patrick Swayzee to my wife, until she pointed he had gone to the big silver screen in the sky!)

Sue - why would being nosy about celebrities be a joke? The current culture of the UK is built on those very foundations...

Terry Jones and Michael Palin drink in the Clockhouse, you know.

And I once saw that bloke wot played Sgt Cryer from The Bill in there.

Packed with famous faces if you ask me.

If it was Ewan McGregor, ask him where he gets his motorcycle washed would you? Mine's filthy and I can't be arsed.

It's true - Ewan McGregor lives in ED. I hear George Clooney is also on the lookout for a holiday residence in the area (he's fed up with Lake Como, apparently).

The most desirable area for Hollywood's A-List is said to be around Goodrich Road, because of the close proximity to state primary schools, Le Moulin, and the DIY shop. Although insiders say that Clooney may seek to buck the trend, and go for a nice 2-bed flat above Somerfield.

Jeremy you silly goose that was Jarvis Cocker not George Clooney.

Why not? He played an electrician in Auf Weidesehen Pet and I for one was convinced by his performance.

    • I'm guessing that most people with pets would not bring either the pets or fireworks into their day to day conversations, to complain or otherwise. Are you suggesting that only "timid" pets are scared by fireworks? What evidence do you have for that, exactly?  Or are you equating being scared of fireworks with being "timid"? And what about the foxes and other wildlife? Is it ok for them to be scared? Firework noise is not a noise that "comes with normal city living" ! What a very strange thing to say! Are you one of the people who have been constantly letting off fireworks recently? I'm assuming you don't have any pets yourself, or you wouldn't have these opinions, but if you do have pets, please share how they react when they hear loud bangs. Unless they are goldfish, in which case you probably wouldn't be able to tell.
