All I know is that this posh bit was a long walk from where our hotel was. It's a crescent full of intimidating stone houses. Didn't see any kids and didn't see any expensive coffee shops (you're right though, I paid ?3.30 for a tea and croissant in LL this morning). Yes, I stalked him. V disappointed he lives in LA and NW8 nowadays! I'll have to notify my friend of the bad news.

I had lunch with him ( Timothy) yesterday in Pizza Express in the village ( that we sat at different tables is no matter )

Mind he seemed very interested in Mr & Mrs W**F's terse & florid words he did, so if you see him in a Mike Leigh production playing an angry man with "Capriciosa"hanging out of his foaming mouth whilst making his point, it's me he's trying to be. Just remember that.

W**F

I suspect if you're not sure who it was but think is may have been someone dark-blonde/gingery and famous looking (and not me, as I don't drink in either of those), it could be Matt Damon, as apparently he's filming the same movie as Clint Eastwood in Nunhead/Brockley, according to the nunhead forum - http://nunheadforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?2,288

    • Thanks penguin  always wondered about that place and that’s way more info than I ever thought I would get  (used to live above a gun nut on friern road - he would tell me nothing)
    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
    • Did anyone actually venture in to that place? I recall it always being closed/very uninviting!
