Would suggest looking at Open Rent - doesn't specifically deal with

short rents, but you do deal directly with the landlords & overheads

on the site are so low, they may be more aminable to short/6m rent.

We found a local flat for while we have work done on the house & ended

up taking out a 6m contract but even those were rare & we have needed

nearly all the 6m's), but found it all much less stressful than dealing

with estate agents.

Try the "Residential property in East Dulwich" section of this very site. There are usually quite a few in there. Rent is usually similar the to the standard rental amount you'd pay for longer periods.

If you go through an agent - ie foxtons type the short term let fees will be significantly higher than market rent - but really they're aimed at people on work placements etc and are typically fully furnished including crockery etc. If you need a short term let for a house sale, looking on here is probably a good bet or airbnb as noted by the previous poster.
  • 2 weeks later...

We needed somewhere to stay for 6 weeks in the summer and stayed in some holiday let apartments in Catford of all places. They weren't glamorous but had a fab indoor swimming pool which kept the kids happy and you can book week by week. Here's the website

Good luck

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you. Please comment below or email me [email protected] Thank you for the vital work you do. Best wishes, Emma
