qwerty99
The new shop, Question Air, that has replaced the god-awful Give & Take is a pretty surprising replacement. Are the prices charged really reflective of typical ED clientele? I know we are now all supposed to be ex-Angel yummy mummys with massive bank acocunts and 1m houses but still, who in the area would spend ?200 on a jumper!? Obviously wish it all the best but will be interested to see whether it succeeds.... LondonMix
Its not only people in ED who shop in Lordship Lane. While the demographics of ED alone might not be able to support a store like this (given many residents are long standing and less 'affluent', the combination of the new residents in ED, Nunhead, Peckham, Forest Hill and Honor Oak not to mention those living in the Village can more than support a shop like this. And by the way, once you can pay as much for a house as houses in this general area sell for now, you most definitely can spend 200 quid on a jumper! Angelina
Do people really come here to shop? Beats a trip into Central, I suppose.I prefer to go somewhere with a bit more choice...but I will certainly have a look and see if they have anything I like! qwerty99
There are only a limited number of clothes shops in ED so I'd be surprised if people from other areas went out of their way to visit LL to shop there. The Question Air in Dulwich Village didn't stick around which would suggest the Dulwich residents weren't keen to spend that much either....? worldwiser
If you knew the kind of rent they're paying you'd understand exactly why a jumper has to cost that. mikeb
Question Air's other shops are in Barnes, Clapham (Northcote Rd), Hampstead and Wimbledon Village. Either they're wrong about ED (which would be surprising given they should know the area well after trying DV) or this area has joined the 'exalted heights' of its other locations. qwerty99
Coats are around ?400-?700, dresses 150-?400, jumpers between ?120-?300. Just surprised me! Doesn't mean that you want to spend that much, though. Even if you earn 200K a year, that's still a bloody expensive jumper.. NewWave
Hate to say but thats what designer clothes cost, and people accustomed to shopping in the likes of Joseph and Whistles won't bat an eyelid at those prices. Sue
What I'd like to know is who came up with the shop name, which makes no sense at all to meIf it's a word play on questionnaire, what has that got to do with clothes? And indeed what have either Question or Air got to do with clothes?Am I missing something here? 1983groke
I'm with Sue- it is annoyingly irrelevant. It has nothing to do with questionnaires, air or questions. I like a good pun and this ain't one. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/86918-question-air/#findComment-938662 Share on other sites
Mustard
Is there still one in Dulwich Village? I remember that they were ram raided a few times, as well as being targeted blatantly by walk in, walk out thieves.
