Hmmm, no surprise that Zonderlings never heard back then!

I don't like this

"Now run by the same team behind The Montpelier, The White Horse has made a speedy transition from overlooked local into the neighbourhood?s newest favourite boozer. Sticking to a strict 100% vinyl only policy with resident selectors spinning Soul & Funk every Friday and boasting its own in-house band, The White Horse still packs plenty of old school charm despite its welcome change in direction."

The White Horse did a good trade before it changed hands thank you very much.

I remember back in '89 when things were simpler and the police a bit naiver, a sound system came straight from a rave on a Sunday and just set up on Clapham Common at 11am followed by car loads of Acieeed kids, and the party carried on all day. The Next week the police were there in force but was a fab one off :) :) :)

The trendiness of Soul & Funk nowadays has me laughing away as in the late 70s it was so looked down on by the 'trendies'

Local ward councillors do get periodic lists of planned events. I have currently got a list until Autumn 2016. We get consulted too. I've not heard anything about this proposed Music Festival. I'm wondering if any application has been submitted to the Council yet. There is currently nothing on the events list for 14th May 2016 in Peckham Rye Park. On that date there is a Fun Run in Southwark Park. I would be surprised in an event of such magnitude (compared to other events on Peckham Rye Park) would be happening without consultation having been initiated and it having at least enquiry status on the Council calendar.

    • You can get a card at the till, though, to get the discount. You don't have to carry it with you (or load it onto your phone), you can just get a different card each time. Not sure what happens if they notice 🤣
    • Yes..that may be the case but membership STARTING at £115 a month is still unafforable for many. Council gyms also have a large range of equipment and I had a  PT at Dulwich leisure centre when I was in Full Time employment who was incredible and even kept in contact during lockdown giving me a program I could do at home and checking in weekly at no charge or personal gain for herself. I dont doubt that Fit For may be a good gym (Its been in situ long enough so must be doing something right) However the cost of membership means it is affordable for the few not the many. If I could afford that kind of fee I would rather get a train to Canary Wharf and go to Virgin active where theres a pool and incredible classes and facilities
    • This sounds great 👍
    • We found a red TREK bike yesterday that had clearly been stolen and dumped. Would love to reunite it with its owner. Get in touch if you know whose it is.
