Cheeky Mick, cheeky.

But seriously, I do think it's cynical. Why in case the bus driver "forgets" to hand it in, rather than in case anyone was wondering where they'd lost it? If the passenger managed to hand it in without stealing it, why wouldn't the driver?

Maybe I'm utterly naive...

Also, many many years ago the BBC got researchers to hand in "lost" purses and wallets at various bus/train stations. Subsequently, a second lot of researchers were dispatched to then claim the "lost" property. Result? About two-thirds of researchers were told that nothing had been handed in! This makes neilson99's (thoughtful) decision to post here appropriate. Sadly it also indicates the sort of world we live in nowadays.

Cynical? Moi? Songs of Innocence and Experience.

Hopefully the driver did the decent thing. Irrespective of that, there maybe a purse-less young (or old or middle aged, I've clearly already generalised too much here tonight already) who is wondering where she (or perhaps he even) might have mislaid it, which was really the point of my post...

    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
    • Wholeheartedly recommend Aria. He was polite, responsive and sorted our leak, from an old tap on an old plumbing system, with no bother and on same day.
