Looking for great local wedding venues in Dulwich

Hi we are looking at wedding venues in East Dulwich and Dulwich village. We are happy to either have it all in one place or have a seperate wedding ceremony and reception but all ideally in walking distance of each other. Any recommendations welcome please 😃

Not sure about your budget or guest numbers but these are great local venues I've had experience with. Some offer both wedding and reception option:

The Horniman Conservatory

Dulwich Picture Gallery

Dulwich College

The Rosendale

Belair House

The Lido Cafe

The Old Nuns Head

The Queens House

The Palmerston

The Crooked Well

Dulwich and Sydenham Golf Club

Not exhaustive list. Good luck :)

The Old Nun's Head will not have a function room as from the end of February.

It is becoming a craft beer bar :(

I went to a wedding reception at The Ivy House a year or so back, and that was good. It also has a good sound system, and a fab stage if you wanted to have live music.

Their phone number is 020 7277 8233 and the events manager is Harry. I am slightly biased as I have community shares and also put on gigs there, but the reason for both is that it's a fab venue!!

ETA: The Lordship has a separate function room upstairs.

I got married at Belair House in December and it was beautiful. We had a small ceremony and lunch with close family and a few friends. We then had our reception (party) the following evening at Greenwich Yacht Club which was also perfect for our plans. I realise this isnt in the immediate area but worth a look if you can't find your ideal venue.

It all depends on your budget really.

Last year I went to wedding at Dulwich College and the happy couple were absolutely delighted with how it all went. 60 people, live band, excellent food and the whole event was extremely well organised. I understand the entire show didn't give any change from ?20,000.

I got married in The Rosendale last May, they were very friendly and professional, we had both the ceremony and the reception there as they have a wedding licence. they are very reasonably priced, total bill for food, drink and room hire came to less than ?7000 i believe (my wife family doesn't drink much though)

I would also recommend Lucy Judson as a photographer, very friendly and took great photos, she lives in west dulwich i believe http://lucyjudson.co.uk

    • Really? Yes you are probably right as I know from personal experience with Guys… as I claiming travel costs back, that no one told me I could claim! Left hand does not know what right hand is doing regarding admin..Ā  If they charged people for wasting overstretched staff in A& E as in not urgent just might deter people from wasting precious time…. But then you need interpreters, to explain if language is a barrier and admin staff to administer..Ā  Correct me if I am wrong but is there not a train from Denmark Hill or East Dulwich which goes to London Bridge? Would be faster than 2 buses I would have thought.Ā  Ā  Oh, forgot about Tessa Jowell but thought you needed GP referral in which case, that would be the place to go rather than a bigger hospital. Know there is one in Beckenham and you can call and they will give you an idea as to wait time…..same I hope at TJ…assuming they answer phone.. If one really things about it…too many Ā people in London for example and to few hospitals… Ā  Ā
    • I don’t think it’s licensed for Sundays. It is licences for Fridays, but there hasn’t been anyone there on a Friday for years. So I doubt it. i think there’s a market at the Horniman on Sundays. Also pretty sure there’s one outside Herve Hill station on a Sunday.
    • I believe there is a minor injuries department at Guys, though I may have misremembered. Not very convenient for SE22 now the 40 no longer goes near. You have to get 2 buses or a train. Charging people (not sure if you mean financially or legally) would waste a lot more time, I would have thought? AndĀ  a bad bruise could be serious, depending on the cause and possibly other symptoms.
    • Good news - parliamentary debate scheduled for 19 January! DearĀ  Parliament is going to debate the petition you signed – ā€œLimit the sale of fireworks to those running local council approved events onlyā€. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/732559 The debate is scheduled for 19 January 2026. Once the debate has happened, we’ll email you a video and transcript. Thanks, The Petitions Team House of Commons
