treehugger
As part of my new fitness regime (!), I am planning to do some serious lane swimming. Could I have advice on whether it is emptier at the pool in the early mornings or late evenings and also approximately how many people swim in the lanes (medium/fast) at your recommended times? Many thanks. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/89847-east-dulwich-swimming-pool/ Share on other sites
speedbird
Aim for February, most people have given up by then! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/89847-east-dulwich-swimming-pool/#findComment-947738 Share on other sites
Dulwichdarling
Don't swim at dulwich, it's too warm and too crowded. Go to camberwell or peckham Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/89847-east-dulwich-swimming-pool/#findComment-948068 Share on other sites
mikeb
Forest Hill also worth a shoutMy experience of Dulwich has been pretty good provided you get there at 6.30 or else aim to finish about 8.30. Late night also better. If you're set on solitude then how about Brockwell Lido? http://www.fusion-lifestyle.com/centres/Brockwell_Lido/news/001_Lido_Winter_2016_Opening_Times Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/89847-east-dulwich-swimming-pool/#findComment-948071 Share on other sites
Mellors
Crystal Palace is by far the best indoor pool by miles round here. 50m, proper lanes, always quiet. All the 25m pools are too busy and too hot. treehugger
Thanks for the advice, I will check times for Crystal Palace. It's a shame re East Dulwich as it is walking distance for me... spark67
I switch Between Crystal palace & Dulwich, tend to go to Dulwich when Crystal palace isn't open later in the evening. CP is much quieter & also a better work out with the 50m racing pool... I quite like the vibe there too at the centre.I find ED ok, It is quite warm (not a bad thing this time of year) but I find a bit crowded sometimes so a slower swim. Nigello
If it's too warm just ask them to turn the heating down. It'll save money and help customers so I'm sure Fusion would be happy to oblige......
