Still trying to figure out who this american guy was who was talking to Daizie briefly - he was part of a group of americans standing outside when I left - may have been filming something....don't suppose you asked him Daizie?

Little ugly guy ::o in a baseball top - do you remember?

Glad I made it along last night...my first outing since our 2nd baby was born.

Great to see familiar faces includin Raj, Sean, Lady Muck, James Cornell, Mazza, Mazzas mate, Daizie etc

Also nice to meet some new faces including Hibbs,Mick Mac, ???? etc.

My first time at The Lodge...and I liked the venue. Plenty of space to sit relax and chat.

And nice bar staff, who managed to knock me up a Pina Collada (in case anyone was wondering the milky drink I had!)

I dont feel too bad today considering the mix of drinks I had!!

shame I missed it last night, sounds like you all had fun. The Lodge may be the venue for the 80s Disco In May.

Il try and organise a mini EDF outing with LM and Mick Mac and whoever else up for it. I will have more time on my hands now, hubby is going to Belfast for a wee while.

Heck no! I can't even remember how I got home! Though I do (vaguely) remember being thrown out by the Bishop's Security Team! Great evening though...the best drinks so far in my extremely humble opinion. Met lots of lovely new people and it was nice to catch up with others too. Fabulous. Once again, mega-thanks to Georgia for arranging.

I have a great pic of some of you guys at the Lodge but it says it's too large to attach... Is there something i can do?? It's 2.07 MB.... Or John - can you grab it from Facebook at all? Cheers all - had a great night and sorry to DC for brace-induced bruises!

JoJo - when I next get home I'll try and pull the pic from facebook. Work doesn't allow access so it'll have to wait

LadyMacGabhann however has expressed disapproval of the state of me in the picture so any delay isn't unwelcome in my house

    • thanks Jenijenjen and all - yes, i remember walking or taking the bus from the elephant (where i was working) to Camberwell to get there.  I think Tim - who's still at Franklin's -  was there in those days, and the woman who ran the cafe!  Other food places that i remember fondly are the ones in Neal's Yard (with the Hunkin sculpture that you could put a coin in ) and the basement lunch place at the Tottenham Court Road junction with Hanway Street...
    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertised  times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
    • Adapted not forced.  As have numerous species around the world.  Sort of thing that Attenborough features.  Domestic dogs another good example - hung around communities for food and then we become the leader of the pack.  Not sure how long it will take foxes to domesticate, but some will be well on their way.    Raccoons also on the way https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1j8j48e5z2o
