A bit of a shameless plug... but one of the groups I regularly perform with, the "Opal Flutes" will be performing a free concert at the Horniman Museum on Saturday. We start at 3pm and will be in the atrium area, so it's a great chance for kids to see/hear some music without actually having to sit still!

We'll be playing a selection of Xmas music with a few fun extras thrown in. If you're at the Horniman be sure to come and check us out (and say hello - I'm the principal flautist, will be standing right at the front).

I've just been out and about today picking up food that local companies have donated, will have to try not to scoff the chocolate panettone and mince pies that are sat in my kitchen calling my name!! :P

On another note, we should organise an EDF Mums recital sometime, I have met a couple of mums on here who are opera singers who would love to perform but have put that to a side whilst they had babies. I am sure there are lots of talented mums on here... May have mentioned this before to you, but perhaps we could put the feelers out next year and see who'd be interested in performing?

    • I wonder if DE lobbied for the pedestrian crossings at the junction if they have plans to develop the site for housing.

Couldn’t see an obvious owner, he had a collar on and very placid but no details on collar. He wandered off (and I wasn’t in a position to stay) but please can folks keep an eye out if he’s still wandering about later in case he has been abandoned. Park ranger numbers were not working 😞

    • There are "plans" to build more reservoirs, with physical work yet to be started, with the first hoped to be completed by 2036, and a second by 2040, then time is needed for them to fill so add at least another 12 months on. However, if the 1.5 million homes are built by 2028, each averaging 2 people occupying them.(some will be more, some will be less) then thats 3 million people showering, bathing and using water.  Therefore there is a massive demand that will strain our current inferstructure between 2028 and 2037 (nearly ten years) plus all those homes will need electricity, as the ambition is to phase gas usage out, which will take just as much time to reinforce the network to cover, let alone add in the ability to cope with green production electricity that needs to be moved from wind and solar farms to where it is most needed.  Therefore, is the current plan to build more homes, regardless of where they are,  potentially going to have serious ramifications on already creaking networks ?
