We are thinking of removing a wall and putting in bi fold doors beside our sitting area so we can look over the garden. I was just wondering if a sofa right near these doors would be too cold? Does the vast amount of glass create a freezing wall so not practical for direct living quarters?

Thanks

We have bifold doors, and feel no cold from them whatsoever! Have 2 chairs in front of them and can sit happily there . Just gone and put my hand on the doors, and they feel room temperature..... Far more noticeable is the cold draft from under our front door!
We had them in our last place and had, at various times, a sofa, an armchair and our dining table right next to them. Never ever felt cold or draughty - because they are multiple-glazing I guess? And specially engineered for the space or something (I clearly have no idea but I do know they weren't cold!). As pickle says they can heat the room but the downside of that is just be aware of e.g. screens etc because of the glare - you might want to consider blinds/thin curtains depending on how the house is positioned.
