It maybe a lovely chateau but posting fake "we loved it" messages (See bondgirl's below) on this and previous posts (deleted) means you are not being totally honest to people. Sorry, I do not want it on the forum. The Administrator

Hello,

We rented a lovely chateau in France a few months ago and have stayed in touch with the owners.

I was so impressed with the place, and the incredibly good value for money, that I have decided to spread the word!

...

There is a huge heated swimming pool in the parklike grounds. All yours .. no other guests or caretakers around .. you have the whole place to yourself.

I was super impressed with the decor .. original Impressionist paintings in one of the salons painted by a pupil of Monet no less!! Very chic .. red velvet .. Venetian chandeliers .. clawfoot bath .. antiques and statues .. gorgeous!

We have booked to go back in September but I know there are still weeks available in July and August. The owners are also offering huge discounts for January, February and March.

If you are interested in more information/photos please reply to my post and I will pass you onto the owners.

2 photos attached to this post.

enjoy!

would you need a car? always like the look of this type of place but worry about how remote they are as my hubby and I dont drive and go everywhere by public transport. would hate to book somewhere like this and be stuck in all the time if its too far to walk to nearest town/village to get busses etc

We had our car with us and it was great to be able to go see the sights.

I don't think it would be essential to have a car however. The shops, bars and restaurants are all an easy walk. And the chateau itself is lovely and the grounds are immense! All surrounded by a high stone wall so it feels quite rural even though you are on the edge of a village. There is a bus stop in the village for getting further afield .. I believe it goes to xxxx e which is a must see. The owners can arrange airport or train station pick up and drop off if need be.

When we go back in September we have decided to just stay put by the pool .. well that is the plan but I know in all likelihood we will end up doing daytrips because there is a lot to see .. the coast is very lovely!

good luck and feel free to contact me if you would like to know anything more. Or feel free to email the owners. I dont want to post their actual email address here as it opens the door to spam but they have a hotmail address they use for such purposes .. removed

Hi Suzy, actually I really just wanted to thank you for sharing your experiences regarding this divine place. As a result of your posting in December we booked the Xmas week, rather last minute, got a great deal, and LOVE the chateau.

merci beaucoup!

Hi,

The chateau has 8 large bedrooms:

7 of the bedrooms have large double beds, one has a king size.

the 8th bedroom has bunks and a king single.

There are also 2 cots and a fold down single.

2 lounges that open onto each other that would seat about 18

outdoor furniture for about 25 people.

Loads and loads of glasses and plates.

The place is really well set up for big groups.

enjoy!

Suzy

Not booked for Christmas. Not booked for high season in July and August. Huge discounts for Feb and March.

Have a heart, admin.

McCloud's due back for the catch-up show this summer and if lettings don't pick up then Amanda/ Boo's Mum/ Suzy/ Samantha isn't going to look good admitting that they've had to make ends meet by hiring the chateau out as a set for gay porn movies.

    • Hello. Would you like a sofa bed? We have one to give away…photos attached. The scatter cushions are not included.
    • Complaint submitted.  Your helpful link took me straight to the relevant page. 🙏
    • I spend a riddiculous amount of time at the PO.  Every day.  I watch and I watch closely.  Returns take seconds.  The wait might be long but the scan takes a second.  The only thing that slows down a return is people scrolling through their phones looking for QR codes. Business customers like me take seconds.  I might have up to 2 bags of boxes but every one is perfectly packaged and pre-paid.  It just needs a scan.  Seconds. For customers like me and for returns customers they could just put in a self-service check out and we would all be in and out in minutes.  Quicker than M&S.   Or, have a dedicated window for scanning and nothing else.  No facility to handle money at that window so nobody is tempted to ask for a service other than scanning.  That would get the queues down instantly. It is the people picking up things that backs up the queue.  The branch is not equipped to provide the service.  Next time you're in the branch take a look at the shelf space immediately behind the servers.  A few stacking shelves.  That's all the space they have.  Everything else is on the floor in a mess.  I take on board what someone said about the private delivery companies not delivering to Peckham and I didn't know that.   The biggest time wasting service of all is Parcelforce.  If someone in front of me asks for Parcelforce I want to cry.  Long, long, forms need to be filled out by hand, in triplicate.  It is Dickensian.   Please consider taking a few minutes to fill out an online complaint (link below).  I honestly believe that an influx of complaints might make a difference.  I don't want to demoralise the staff or anything sinister but the PO needs to see that the branch is broken. https://www.postoffice.co.uk/contact-us/in-branch-customer-experience
    • Couldn't agree more with the frustration. I avoid it like the plague but made the mistake of picking up a parcel a couple of months ago and it took them 20 minutes to find it. This was after queuing for an hour. All the pickup parcels were just in a massive heap with no order or organisation so they manually had to search for everything. Bizarre and deeply annoying as if run well it could be a good asset to the Post Office and of course the community. Also, very much agree with the point re not taking it out on counter staff as it must be a terrible and demoralising environment to work in.
