Yes..

..I got a Green Thumbs up Sticker on my Blue Bin..

Southwark Council.

The slogan was.. 'THANKS FOR DOING IT'

The things in this bin will be recycled to benefit the local area and environment.

VEOLIA.

DulwichFox.

P.S. There were no stickers on any other bins nearby.

VEOLIA is a French Company contracted by Southwark Council to collect our waste..

Technically, anything put in the bin belongs to Southwark Council. It is important that waste is put in the correct bin.

Obviously, the waste collectors need to come into your garden to access your bins.. and inspectors can gain access

to check its contents.. Southwark can refuse to take waste put in the wrong bin or even fine you for doing so.

Put a high fence, with a watchtower

Monitor the perimeter in shifts

Your rubbish should be safe then

Your experience of uninvited guests in your garden has obviously been more positive than mine.

It's all a bit of a waste of time and money, isn't it? They only inspect the top layer. I could be the Dulwich Ripper and fill the bin with body parts as long as I put paper and bottles on the top. Unless, as I said earlier, they're going to make money from the fines.

Yes, I did too. Little things, eh?

As for people only putting paper and bags on the top to hide non-recylcable items to fool the refuse collectors ... really?

    • Has anyone else noticed a small notice, midway on the green, metal barricade, that is flagging another event in September? It seems to be another event organiser has been granted a licence to operate in the same area of the park? Does anyone know more? If Cllr Hamvas is around, perhaps she could shed some light on this and any other plans for further commercial exploitation of our precious park, by this council.
