Bizarrely I got an email from Crown and Greyhound today (showing Dulwich Village address) reminding me to book a table for Mothers Day (link goes to page saying not taking bookings), telling me brunch is served every Sat from 12 March and about a beer festival in April.

Their CRM engine might need tweaking

I had a peek around the back where a dumper truck has churned up the garden and the building work is continuing apace. But the garden! The cursed fence is down and the whole garden is revealed once more in all its hugeness, unseen for many a year.

We can but hope that it is reopened in its entirety as and when, and that some tosspot doesn't put BBQs, climbing frames, sandpits and plastic Wendy houses all over it.

I'm hoping for Farrow & Ball potting sheds, with retro gardening tools screwed to the wall

There's one test of a new place. You stand in the door, take a breath and say to yourself "In laws" and if yours come to mind all smelling of perfume and wearing wrap around 50% rayon knitwear shawls from John Lewis at Bluewater, then it's lost, lost to those who know nothing of life in a City

And we move on, towards chips in mini buckets and breaded fish on wooden boards

"No we're paying, it's our treat" as you park your adult self and be the kids one more time

*sigh*

    • Another recommendation for Niko. Great communication, top guy, and super reliable and skilled - all at a fair price. Takes a lot of care in what he does and talks you through everything.
    • Some foxes are very tame. The foxes that live near the electricity sub-station thing on the corner of Calton and Woodwarde will happily walk up to you/passed you. They are some of the best looking foxes around so clearly being well-fed - glorious coats and bushy tails but interested in humans and keen to engage/be fed rather than being scared.
