Watch out, watch out there's a troll = bully about

My username is being trolled by Lewis Schaffer on his twitter account since I have expressed strong opinions against the scrubland protest groups proposals for COC.

I thought trolling was illegal in the UK? Does anyone know what the consequences are for being a troll if you are not a UK citizen but residing in the UK?

OK I wasn't going to boost his pathetic ego by mentioning this, but he's also been harassing me constantly on Twitter since 11 February. I have a Twitter account solely to publicise our folk music events, and he is using that to attack me because of posts I have made on this forum which are my own personal views and have nothing to do with these events.

I have asked him not to use my full name on Twitter and he has continued to do so.

The group which he is associated with should be ashamed. I notice that he is tweeting solely under his own name, so I presume he doesn't want the followers of his group to know what he is doing.

Well, maybe it's about time they knew.

He has also brought Chener Books into his tweets. I don't know what on earth he thinks he is doing, but I can't think he is attracting people to his viewpoint.

He has also attempted to get a local "gossip" group to diss me/our music events on Twitter as well by including their name in his tweets, thankfully without success.

That came up before in a thread. It's a hoax.

Besides, apart from anything else, why would an unknown English actor purport to be an unknown American comedian?

Surely you can fool all of the EDF some of the time and some of the

EDF all of the time but not all of the EDF all of the time.

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or downloads as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
    • That was one that the BBC seem to have lost track of.  But they do still have quite a few. These are some in their 60s archive. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0028zp6
