Ahhh a gym above a pub....sounds like a good deal! Is it still there? I quite fancy learning how to throw the odd jab jab cross combo.

I managed to stay up till some ungodly hour to catch it and I'm glad I did. An absolute cracker.

Mayweather would be a massive fight but I wonder if, with that one, Hatton may just have bitten off more than he could chew.

Edit: Indeed the gym above the Blue Moon still exists. Clinton McKenzie Boxercise

Err..it's the Half Moon. When I went there as a youngster it was the Brixton & District Boxing Club that was run upstairs above the pub. Never been fitter than in those days. Anyway, all ages can go. I friend of mine still does to keep in shape and indeed, yes it is run by the McKenzie brothers Duke and Clinton.

Sorry, Half Moon. I was clearly thinking about Hatton's theme song!

    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
