No. Baguley and Walkden stores, Manchester

Now I used to fill the freezers after school a couple of nights a week in Tesco - I once got locked in the minus 18 back up freezer for half an hour without the duvet outfit.

You wouldn't want do that in your pyjamas or barefoot!

How did you get found? And half an hour is a heck of a long time...didn't you get some sort of frost-bite or something?

There is a failsafe push handle in all freezers- only way get locked is if someone does it deliberately. I do know of some idiot who put his tongue on metal shelving and had to get the fire brigade out to release him !!!!

Night shift turned up at 8.

The mechanics of it involved a big pile of boxes of peas falling over and blocking the door.

Just got back from Cardiff, went in wearing flip flops and carrying a yoga matt and managed to walk out carrying my mangoes. Don't know what that article is about really. Some journalists are just krap. :)

Did you pay for the mangoes?

    • But without knowing the cause of the repeated leaks, it's impossible to comment really. Poor repairs? Something wrong further up the system? Lack of maintenance?  When one of the leaks in our road recurred shortly after it had been repaired, a TW guy said to me that the repairers must have jumped too hard on the asphalt (?) laid above the point of the repair when they were getting it to settle (?) and broken the repair. I wasn't sure if he was joking or not 🤣
    • But in many cases the leaks are happening in the same places again and again, and every inch of pipe outside the Horniman on the South Circular must have been replaced at least 3 times in the last 15 years! Of course the infrastructure in some areas is old, but locally there's been quite a bit of replacement. To little effect it would seem.
    • Thank you, Pugwash. That's really useful information. Do you know who was responsible for the locks and keys, or which council department? Could you PM me if you don't want to put someone's personal details on here?  It may save me having to speak to Monica. Thanks.
    • Does anybody know why? Trees aren't cut down for no reason. There must have been something wrong with it (I hope that was the reason). A child was recently killed and another one injured when a tree fell in a park (not in this area). It isn't always obvious from the outside when a tree is diseased or whatever, and I imagine the council would give safety considerations priority when deciding what to do, if there was any doubt at all.
