Impressions of Dulwich & Peckham by an elderly American traveller.

Did he actually go to Peckham?

He seems to have completely missed the vibrant African, largely evangelical Christian population that has a high profile on Rye Lane. I havent seen much in the way of Islamic oppression of women on Rye Lane, but I have seen a box of giant edible snails for sale; shame those dont get a mention. If he heard Middle Eastern music, that would have been Asian music from those shops run by Asians.

"Peckham Rye" is a large and rather pleasent park is it not? With a lively population of Green Parakeets that also dont get a mention.

the concentration in Peckham Rye is skewed towards the very poor, the struggling, and the immigrant. Walking the streets one runs up against the evidences of the Islamic oppression of women everywhere:

Oh do cock off, Roy.

Can't blame you about the boner for Ros, er, sorry, the vivacious young woman in Review, though. I don't think Review has anything to do with London Review either. Although I'm willing to be corrected on that.

Mind you, shouldn't be too harsh, you should see my math. Terrible, it is.

    • Hello.   Thanks Nigel and Hparker 😀   I've got new slots available for new students looking for a piano teacher or guitar teacher.   You could start in the new term beginning September, or I'm also available adhoc-styles through the summer holidays at times.   I teach all ages, in most styles, in lots of different ways according to how you learn/like to learn.   Give me a call or text on 07730 402336.   I have connections to lots of performance opportunities/networks too.   I run regular events /student concerts, and play in bands/perform.   Natalie.
    • So do I, but I think they are in trouble as well.  Anyway, that space wouldn't be big enough.
    • I'm not talking about Starmer. I was responding to a post which  said that  Corbyn was unelectable. How people voted in the "more hotly contested election" is irrelevant. Corbyn wasn't leading the Labour Party then. Starmer was. And the turnout for Labour reflects that.
