Sorry, but I'm not having false accusations thrown my way

I have not personally attacked you Kel, I have simply tried to point out that you are publicly (a word you seem to care about) making statements which aren't true

IN your last post you are at pains to say

which is very different from your earlier point which was

those are both carefully constructed, pointed and yet contradictory points - which one do you want to stand by? I'm not reading any deeper meanings, I'm just confused

Me asking that question can not be construed as an attack?

I'm not picking on you, I'm simply reading your posts, thinking "that's not true" and trying to reply. With each reply you respond ever more faux-naive

Poor old karter...you must feel neglected...must be the third (?) time you have mentioned it?

Don't suppose someone from the Admin Team could answer karter's question. I wouldn't mind knowing the answer either. Thank you in advance. xx

The point of the Sig karter?? Well on another forum I frequent people are not quite so uptight and easily frustrated about them and we can do what we want. Many people use the space to advertise their companies or websites etc or whatever they want without folks/admin (who is one of 'us') getting uptight easily. It really doesn't matter to the folks on that forum. To my mind the point is that it is an opportunity to personalise your space, if you like. A sort of headed notepaper thing except instead of the name and address at the top, your website or something is underneath. Many of the sigs are imaginative and funny and some people change them regularly. They tell folks something about the writer other than the post they are posting at the time. Life is really too short to worry 'bout this sh!te. But some poor souls do. We'll survive. Heyyyy the sun came out today! Did anyone notice? Hope you all had a nice time last night.

Thank you Peckhamrose (and LadyM). I was wondering why the edf has a sig thing. Clearly advertising for business is not allowed now. Ok things change and rules get changed and more sponsers do seem to be on here these days, quite rightly i would imagine, to fund this place. Still can't see the point though of the sigs though, especially if the sig is rather repetitive and can be annoying to some.

I noticed the sun today yep it was lovely. Last night was lovely too. Some of us got rather pi$$ed though and started dancing on the tables (not me), not saying anymore on that.:-S

Supposing sigs were allowed ad infinitum then they would become the junk mail of the forum and just be ignored. Take it one step further though and you might have a forum just full of junk mail. My junk goes straight in the rubbish. It difficult enough making your way around the forum currently given the various categories there are in the sense it sometimes hard to remember where you read something useful and you want to find it again. As much as I'd agree with certain sigs remaining I would prefer none than a free for all. There is a section to advertise anyway.

Easy tiger.

This whole thing came up as people were getting away with stuff in their sigs that were against then general rules, and newcomers said 'Hold on, why can 'x' do it and I can't?'.

So it was all standardised, as some screamed up when they got dragged into line.

I go away for a few days and this is still going, I did not expect that! Karter, sorry for the delay in replying, a signature is just a way for someone to sign of their posts without having to re-type it every time, like Simon who signs his off "Simon".

Ruffers summed it up nicely, I was just doing a bit of housekeeping and some took offence (mistakenly so it seems in one case). No offence was meant on my part and it would be great if this "issue" could not be dragged out any longer.

    • My daughter, a single parent, has been let down by her children's' father, who was supposed to have them for part of the school holidays, So we are helping out. Our grand daughter aged 11 is no problem, but 9year old is more difficult to please. Has an interest in computers and coding, does not like crowds (neurodiverse)  Is keen n how things work and enjoys taking things apart. He is already going to the transport museum and has been to the science museum  Husband and I have some mobility problems so nothing too strenuous. have done Horniman's a number of times.  Is there any local holiday schemes where we can enrol him in for 2/3 days. There seems to be a number relating to singing/dancing and drama but nothing science/maths based. He does not have an interest in sport at the moment. Grand children live in Sussex and will be attending Holiday Clubs for a couple of weeks
