I went to Beckenham Odeon last night with one of my bitches and we saw this wonderful film. We knew nothing about the movie at all and it was chosen purely on the premise that we felt like laying back for an hour and a half and wondering what it might be like to kiss George Clooney on the mouth.

It's a marvellous film and it was a pleasant surprise to see a Hollywood film that doesn't fit neatly into a genre. And it didn't have a Hollywood ending to boot - how rare is that? The female leads were not cast from models central which was a bonus - they were just good actors. The wedding scenes in particular warmed my heart - the characters and the acting felt very real. The plot calls for a lot of scenes where characacters are being laid off work and that wasn't easy viewing because obviously behind every lay-off there is a a family and hardship to come. Some very well observed moments and some very funny moments. Did I mention George? I don't like to go on but he gets better and better with age and I most definitely would.

Recommended. Go see.

Yes me too Karter - as soon as he got out of the car and started running towards the house I knew exactly what was going to happen. That was a turning point in the movie because up until then I'd pigion-holed it as a rom-com because the chemistry between the two leads was all sexed-up. So when the door opened I was thinking "WTF - what sort of movie is this?". I guess it's a movie about a man who wants to make changes?

Not really Gigsy,

you wanted to know what it would be like to throw him to the ground and have your wicked way,

thus leaving a dried husk of a spent male.........

I guess that's what women in their prime think?

    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
    • Wholeheartedly recommend Aria. He was polite, responsive and sorted our leak, from an old tap on an old plumbing system, with no bother and on same day.
