Not looking to give up the day job? Me neither.

I don't want to get signed, or go on tour, or play the usual toilet venues - I'm looking to join or start a band to write a few songs, have a few beers, and maybe do some local gigs.

I play guitar and/or keyboards, and I need to get back into playing music again, but without taking it too seriously.

Whether it's a full band, or just a couple of people strumming acoustic guitars, I'd like to have fun playing music.

In terms of style, I'd like to do something that sits somewhere in the space between this lot:

the Stones, the Band, the Clash, Mogwai, Massive Attack, the Pixies, the Clash, the Small Faces, Spiritualized, the Cure, the Lemonheads, the MGs, My Bloody Valentine, and Neil Young.

Quite a big space, I know...

If you're interested, please send me a message.

Malcomio - if you get desperate, I fit into the "LITTLE talent but no ambition" bracket.

I have the balls to get up and play and do so, but theres little 'talent'.

My stylees are punk, ska, gospel, old-time/hillbilly, new wave, blues, if I had to pigeonhole them.

I have no discernable talent and hardly any ambition, so that's me out.

But I'm happy to lend a hand in creating that 'first gig in Camden' feel by standing motionless five feet from you as you play, slowly sipping a pint of beer occasionally shaking my head if your timing goes slightly out.

    • This is a commonly held misconception. The Dulwich Estate’s Scheme of Management is self funding. The annual charge which those of us who live on the Estate are obliged to pay on an annual basis does NOT go to funding the Foundation Schools or the other Beneficiaries of Edward Alleyn’s estate. www.thedulwichestate.org.uk/property-on-the-estate/residential-freehold/ the scheme of management will tell you all you need to know about this feudal tithe gathering enterprise created in 1974. The Dulwich Estate Charity is bound to distribute every year its disposable income to its beneficiaries, which include the three Dulwich Foundation Schools. In 2022-3 this was £5m.
