  1. I won't be there either, I have to work this weekend.
  2. no as Ann said, the 343 hit someone. I was on the top deck so I didn't see anything, but the bus was halfway across into the other lane, and didn't move for a long time, so traffic was affected in both directions. I guess the driver has to leave the bus where it is until the police come to investigate
  3. Please join me on the Great Expectations bike ride to Rochester on Sunday 7th March. The ride from will support the project work of HealthProm, a charity promoting health and social care in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, to make a difference to the lives of orphaned and disabled children in Tajikistan. For more information please go to http://www.greatexpectationsride.org.uk
  4. Not looking to give up the day job? Me neither. I don't want to get signed, or go on tour, or play the usual toilet venues - I'm looking to join or start a band to write a few songs, have a few beers, and maybe do some local gigs. I play guitar and/or keyboards, and I need to get back into playing music again, but without taking it too seriously. Whether it's a full band, or just a couple of people strumming acoustic guitars, I'd like to have fun playing music. In terms of style, I'd like to do something that sits somewhere in the space between this lot: the Stones, the Band, the Clash, Mogwai, Massive Attack, the Pixies, the Clash, the Small Faces, Spiritualized, the Cure, the Lemonheads, the MGs, My Bloody Valentine, and Neil Young. Quite a big space, I know... If you're interested, please send me a message.
  5. you can follow the thames path quite a long way from greenwich. it's a bit industrial, and smelly in places, but traffic free and flat, and you see a different side of the city. i'm helping to organise a charity ride that way: Great Expectations in a few weeks if you'd like to join us...
  6. hi - i've not been out for a while, but hopefully will be getting back on the bike in the next couple of months. last summer went to leith hill and box hill a few times, and afan in south wales for a weekend. Definitely looking to explore a bit more, though

  9. I'll be up for Thursday, but not Saturday this week. Rhian can't do either day.
  10. Rhian and I will be up for a game this weekend.
  11. Rhian and I should be up for playing this weekend, although she's away at the moment so i can't check with her
  12. I'm away this weekend, but I'll be up for the week after. Not sure if Rhian can make it this week.
  13. saw this thread on saturday morning, but didn't manage to join the league until today. no great loss, seeing as how badly my team did
  14. Rhian and I should be up for playing this weekend as well
  15. my wife will be playing as well. we're both rubbish though...

  17. is anyone up for a game this weekend? saturday 25th or sunday 26th? finally a weekend where we're in london...
  18. My wife and I would be interested in playing, but we're not around this weekend. Hopefully we can join you some other time
  19. just tried calling to make a reservation, and apparently they "had some problems with the licence" so they're not open any more. but the man on the phone was very friendly and offered to bring his flambe trolley round to my place, give me a cooking lesson, and do the washing up!
  20. that sounds like a good trail - is it up west norwood somewhere? I'm not around this weekend, but I'd be up for exploring that some time
  21. hello - sorry to hear that, hope the gig was good. maybe you can find a rout for the next time. is anyone else up for a shorter, more local ride on sunday? roads rather than hills?
  22. i think there's a pub just near box hill station that is OK-ish. I should really be thrifty and take sandwiches, but I quite fancy the idea of some proper food
  23. bbc reckons sunny intervals :) http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/4172?count=10
