Hi there, sorry if I've posted this already... I can't see it in General so I'm posting again. Here's a link to my local Kent walks website, all within reach of East Dulwich/Peckham/Lewisham. The latest post on the home page includes easter egg hunts and guided walks for the coming long weekend at great places within 20 miles. The link is:

Thank you, this is great. I plan to take my kids to do the Emmetts Garden easter egg hunt and then the circular walk

Thanks so much for posting your blog on here - we thoroughly enjoyed the Downe Circular today. It was perfect for our 5 and 3 year olds. Posted some pics on my blog http://hernehillmum.com/2016/03/28/a-family-walk-around-down-house/

I'll be working my way down the list of suggested walks during the year I expect!

Thanks amac. I did the Downe walk this afternoon with my 2 sons who are 11 and 9 and we had a lovely time. We left ED about midday and got to Downe within an hour. The walk was the perfect length for an afternoon followed by a visit to the tea shop. Home by 5pm! We accidently went a bit off the route in places but easily found our way back again. Thanks also Pamela78 for recommending it. We will also be working our way through the list.

Thanks again.

Amac, we did another of your routes today. This afternoon we went out and did Walk 2: Shoreham (Kent) Circular. We all enjoyed outselves and the walk was very easy to follow. Finished off with a soft drink outside the pub in Shoreham before driving home.

There wasn't very much mud at all and there is just 1 steep part so I think young children would be able to complete it.

There are a few perfect picnic spots next to the river so we will be back in the summer to do that and have a paddle too.

The route would also suit a trail run really nicely and I am hoping to go back and do that sometime soon.

Thanks amac for plotting the route.

Goodliz, really glad to hear you enjoyed the walk. The Shoreham walks are easy to extend: if you continue up the steep hill to the woods at the top there are more paths to explore that can all bring you back to Shoreham eventually if you keep your bearings. Shoreham isn't bad for mud; but One Tree Hill and Ide Hill walks are back to quagmirish in parts thanks to heavy showers this week.

Absolutely Goodliz... and the great news is the mud has now almost all gone, and the bluebells are still just about in their prime though will be fading very soon now. Best walk for bluebells is Ide Hill circular (can't miss 'em). Shoreham Circular walk has great bluebells if you extend the walk by about 15 minutes by walking through Meenfield Wood at the top of ridge (ie, continue up the hill to the top before turning right on path). Here's the site again... https://localkentwalks.wordpress.com/

    • There seems to be a change in the reception staff - did not recognise a couple of them when I last visited.  Not sure whether one of the long term staff has retired as not seen her for a while.  Used on line facility as my podiatrist recommended antibiotics for a toe infection and also took photo of my toe which I attached yo my request. Got a message back within a day to say medication ordered from chemist.

    • Oh give it a break.  We have an MP who makes racist comments, yet our media (and what seems like this Forum) that generally hate Labour (and loved Johnson) are just out looking for the dirt. It's a move on, nothing to see here.  Particularly if she used a letting agency.
