I'm happy with the service I received today.

Specifically, when arranging the visit Mr Brown was very clear about what he could do, what his prices were, and when he would be able to come. He provided references straight away and replied to text messages promptly.

When he visited he came exactly at the agreed time, his work seems thorough to me, and he wrote up a professional treatmeant report. He recommended that there would probably be no need for a follow-up, which tells me that he is confident in his work and doesn't feel the need to 'up-sell' a follow-up package when it's not required.

Overall, a professional service (and I hope it's the last I see or hear of unwanted furry house guests!)

I would thoroughly recommend Browns pest control firm. I had a terrible problem with rats coming up from drains. After one treatment of wire wool baits and foam. I am no longer plagued by the horrid things. I also had a call back from mr brown and he checked all over again for me and I was happy that there has been no more evidence of the rats. If you're looking for a pest control firm don't hesitate to call him.

I can not recommend this company enough. I had an immediate response to my email from Mr Brown and it was EASTER SUNDAY regarding our unwelcome furry guests (I have a rodent phobia!). Not only was Mr Brown excellent at answering all my numerous emails and all my questions and putting me at ease as i did become a little neurotic. The service received was very prompt and professional. The charged price was fair and the technician Mr Brown was very helpful, friendly and reassuring. All in all I am a happy customer. I will be recommending this company to my friends and family should they require pest control services. Excellent service all round.

This is another recommendation for Craig Brown and Browns Pest Removal. Craig text me back straight away when I messaged in a panic, came over that Saturday and was straight to work. He explained his process and everything he had done. He was thorough and extremely personable. You can either get a one off treatment or add a 3 month call back which is greatly appreciated.

I would definitely recommend Craig again.

Hello,

Another heartfelt recommendation for Craig at Browns Pest Removal.

We'd been struggling with mice for 8 weeks by the time I called Craig. We'd been through all the common-sense solutions to no avail - at times it seemed like we were making progress, but other times we ended up with these mice being out and about at all hours of the day and it was doing my head in. We'd caught several in the mean traps, another with a borrowed cat, and we knew several had died through poison -- but they still kept on coming.

We're in one of those Victorian conversion flats that seems to be full of holes, and we'd been going round filling them up, but as fast as we filled one up, the mice would find another one. We're in the loft, and just behind our kitchen units we have a large unused under-eaves space, aka Club Med for Mice. Clearly the mice were coming in from somewhere behind the kitchen units, but it seemed that to fill up all the holes properly, we were going to have to pull out all the fitted kitchen units, and basically destroy the kitchen. But tbh we were so fed up with these mice that we were just about prepared to do so.

I rang Craig at 9pm on a Sunday night, and he came the next day and sorted everything out. He happily went under the eaves (scary haunted-house territory) to see what was what (and came out with one mouse that he'd promptly despatched with). He didn't have to pull out the units, and in fact he didn't seal up all the holes, but he sealed up all the ones that he said the mice would use for their runs. I was a little doubtful because I thought, where there's a hole, a mouse will find its way through, but since then, now 10 days so far, there's not a mouse to be seen and peace has been restored. He also laid a stronger poison than the one I was able to get over the counter.

Money well spent. Double thumbs up.

Claire

Craig came over yesterday to help us with a mouse problem. He brought another guy with him, and the two of them spent an hour looking for holes and blocking them up, for a pretty reasonable price. Time will tell if it worked! Will report back...

Another recommendation for Craig Brown. I wanted him to put down some preventative bait in my flat while I am doing it up (lots of work so potential to disturb any pests in the voids). He responded to my email within the hour and was out the next day. Friendly and professional, would recommend.

After seeing recommendations on here I contacted Craig regarding moths which the previous owner had allowed to take hold in the house. His quote was very reasonable compared to a few others that I sourced and included a follow up option. He came early on Saturday morning to spray my house with the promise that if I see any survivors he would come back as many times as needed within 3 months to eradicate them. So far, so good.

I contacted Craig early Friday morning and he was able to fit me in later that day. I had tried humane traps but hadn't been able to catch any mouse/mice for a number of weeks. Craig and his colleague plugged up numerous access points and I have not seen any evidence of mouse activity since, for which I am very grateful for.

I contacted Craig yesterday regarding a wasp nest which our decorators had discovered whilst painting the front of the house. Craig came round later afternoon after the decorators had gone with his spray and scaled the scaffolding.

Very impressed with service. Will keep his number for future reference.

I spoke to soon re Craig - after informing me that if we still had problems he would come back , the next day I phoned and explained that the wasps had increased and seemed to be re siting further along the eaves. Craig promised to come back and do re spray. I informed our decorators that he would be back but they reported that he failed to turn up. Left a message on his phone yesterday and he did not ring back.

We got in touch with another company who are doing it today at ?40 cheaper than Craig.

As for Pugwash last comment. I did return there that evening with one of my technicians & did spray a dust (ficam d)I didn't seal up the eaves again just in case any of the wasps that weren't in the hive came back & congregated around a different area of the roof or eaves.

I didn't need to gain access to property as was dust on this visit. I had to wait for decorators to leave as well as the wasps would come aggressive.

My only mistake was not returning the phone call as i was busy. Sorry again Pugwash

Craig,

The decorators abandoned doing the front due to the number of wasps and were working at the side and back. they had taken the ladder down to get onto the scaffolding as did not want it to go 'walkies' but were going to put it back up when you came. It would have clarified matters if you had put a note through the door to say that you had been and also the receipt, but had no evidence that you had called around. Also you had my land line number which has an ansaphone.

The lack of a note and a return phone call, message left Friday morning and not responded to until Sunday. left us in a quandary as wasps still buzzing around and decorators were returning on Sunday to catch up with the work, so we were left with no choice to call in another firm.

I appreciate you clarifying the situation on the Forum. Thanks

I would like to offer a very positive recommendation for Craig. I saw a mouse in our kitchen last week and Craig responded to my (panicked) email very quickly, and was thankfully able to come round the following day (Saturday). I found him incredibly reassuring (I had proved a complete wuss on appearance of mouse around my feet and was on the verge of abandoning the room for good till Craig came round..!) as he was clearly very experienced and capable and considered it possible to get on top of the problem we had, and duly filled in all possible mouse entry points he could find in our kitchen. There was a missing floorboard he found in one of our cupboards which he advised us to get filled as this was clearly a weak point, but we felt confident Craig had done his job as thoroughly as possible, and we have now followed up on his advice. In any case he is at the end of the phone and was again very helpful when I had another wobble about the mice and needed some advice the other evening. Thank you Craig.

    • This reads like an article in Gardeners World where Percy Chucker is discussing how he grew his SUV so big just using diesel based fertiliser and regular waywrimg 🤣   But point well made, they are getting bigger which is partly down to safety features that older cars didn't have but also marketing as adverts seen to push SUVs into the public eye.
    • I highly recommend Phil at Four Paws doors for fitting a pet door. He has recently fitted a new microchip door for me in a very awkward tight spot. He came up with a solution for the problem of how to fit it within the space and supplied the appropriate flap as well as fitting it. The work was done within a couple of days of my initial enquiry. He was very friendly and helpful throughout and did not make a fuss despite having to work hunched under a desk and hitting his head several times!!!  His indepth knowledge was really beneficial and so much better than getting a general handyman to do it.  http://www.fourpawsdoors.co.uk/ m. 07814 406010
    • Cars are getting bigger and heavier (new cars have become so bloated that half of them are too wide to fit in parking spaces designed to the minimum on-street standards. The average width of a new car in the EU and UK passed 180cm in the first half of 2023, having grown an average of 0.5cm each year since 2001). Speed enforcement is also pretty rare in practice and according to DfT stats, under free-flowing traffic conditions, 50% of car drivers exceed the speed limit on 30mph roads. Hopefully we'll see regulation to stop the car bloat arms race, and perhaps moves to use the same geofenced speed limiters deemed essential for electric hire scooters, but not currently SUVs. Would certainly be more effective and cause less noise, pollution and damage than speed bumps. Also the cost gets passed to the manufactures, rather than public authorities.
