Mr Ant,

No, I am still here. I have no social life, and am officially a (sob) 'rugby widow', although quite why he had to leave the house at 10.00 am this morning for a match that didn't kick off until 3.00 pm didn't really make sense to me. Being a trophy wife is not all it is cracked up to be.

The most excitement I have had all day was cleaning my diamonds in a big glass of Gordons Gin!

Was he watching it down the pub? Somehow I suspect he's more of a corporate-box type of chap. But a 10am start in order to nab a good spot in the boozer is not unheard of. Perhaps a tad extreme though.

I think everyone, me included, has been enjoying the glorious sunshine this weekend.B) Dulwich park was overrun today - the number of people made it seem more like a hot August day and there were big queues at both ice creams vans.

Those ice cream vans give you a good insight into the manners of Dulwich children. Once I was in a very long queue in the park for a lolly and when a dad asked his adorable darling which ice cream she wanted, she replied "All of them!" - I kid you not!

I even went in the garden and started doing my spring pruning today. Good weather also forecast for next week - hurrah!

I was there too, Ko. Along with everyone else from miles around, it seems.

To be honest, it was all a bit much for me. I just wanted a quiet, relaxing walk. Instead I got caught up in crowdaggeddon at the swings.

Pressed the wrong link and came to the earliest thread on this site. If we ever think EDF is dull nowadays see how awful it was then! Are any of the original posters still around to defend this view. PS this is a facetious post so don't get on your high horses.

    • I look out for them tomorrow over Horniman Gardens.  Separately our garden has been invaded by large birds, magpies, a jay or two, starlings, a couple of wood pigeons and less great and blue tits than usual, virtually no long tailed tits and only the occasional dunnock.  No blue tit nesting this year either..... Here's a lovely picture when the common redpolls visited a few weeks ago, feeding on sunflower chips with the goldfinches.  Note the home made anti-parakeet cage (from a squirrel proof feeder)
    • Special Advisors aka SPADs didn't want the report published, I know as I have the contacts.  And that isn't Peter Walker.  It was published because it was leaked.  Look through the executive summary line by line and there are some positive views and some negative ones.  This therefore comes across as balanced; as all academic studies should be.  Sunak want to appeal to the motorists vote, and therefore Harper picks on the negatives.  The Guardian, LCC and the like pick on the positives.  That's the way the world works.  But as said government wanted it to be a hatchet job, and it wasn't.  I expect the LTNs to be still there in years to come.  Let's see how Starmer reacts now the ULEZ has got the thumbs up in the Mayoral elections.
    • I used a white floor paint, whether you keep redoing it depends on how bothered you are about scuffs, which I'm not 😂 I just pretend it's supposed to look like that 😂 I hoover it then mop it with Flash or something similar in a bucket. Some things have stained it in places, but obviously a white floor in a kitchen is liable to get stained. Sometimes I put rugs down if I want a change. You need to make sure the floorboards don't have gaps where water could get in and rot them. In the kitchen I originally had a concrete floor, so tongue and groove was put over it  (so no gaps between the boards, though it looks like floorboards) but my bathroom has actual floorboards which were painted white. I know people who have just used ordinary paint rather than floor paint, but I imagine it's not so hard-wearing. You could ask advice in a paint shop.
    • Oh Thanks can I ask what paints or other products you used and is it long lasting or do you have to keep redoing it?
