This is the spin-off to get Welsh people interested in Dr.Who, right?

If present at the coronation, *Sombre, respectful bow* If not, *Stands on rugbyclub table, raises stein, bellows "Gawd save the Keef", drops kecks to reveal EDF boxers, and starts chugging beer* Blurry fine stuff, Sir :)-D -
Don't flame, daizie, it's not nice.

Public demand for someone to get banned because, generally speaking, every single opinion he expresses is offensive to someone does NOT a banning make, it makes an intolerant, clique-y, possibly bullying forum. It turns it into a farce the likes of which the British tabloids would be proud of. Brendan is absolutely right, you don't ban the BNP because every group, however extreme, is entitled to a voice. You either ignore them, or you confront them, depending on the type of person that you are. The reality is that while virtually everything certain bilious posters write fills me with rage, they are still valid points of view, however distgusting to ones higher sensibilities. See people who get your hackles up as a sort of public reaffirming of your left-wing-liberal faith if you feel like fighting, and not worth your breath if you don't. I flit between the 2, mostly because if they got banned then it'd be the fault of the wooly forum with it's failure to see it how it is, and possibly the fault of the forums ethnic minority members: result, no insight gained, bigottry reaffirmed by spin. Debate, argue, call on the out and out nastiness and call it what it is. Or just ignore. So No, I don't think anyone here should be banned. For those who genuinely feel that there has been overstepping of the mark, rather than sensationalist "ban them" campaigns, use the "report post" function whenever you feel he has genuinely offended, explaining your reasons why. If there's case to answer, admin will answer it. But I don't see admin giving in on this thread, because to grant this request would be daft.

Passing, all i could spot was a lot of ponces and mockneys outside braying loudly about it being great that there's still an authentic pub in town um-yah um-yah... Still, everywhere's entitled to a slightly raucous re-opening. multiple edits for friday night typing...

Asthma is a tad different to getting itchy eyes and a runny nose in hayfever season, in it's severe form it's a potentially life threatening condition, and it can be triggered by allergies. How much do you want that cat, really? -

figured this was do-able: prob was/is that I don't really know how to filter out which of these websites will result in a massive viral porn download, so any recommendations for safe ways to go greatly received! Does the same apply to converting stuff from youtube? PS: In the interests of protecting admin and other users, this is a purely an academic exercise and I'm sure none of us habitually infringe copyright etc >:D< -

Resurrecting this thread to probably get laughed at by computer types in the know: Is it possible to download the video files from a DVD onto a PC? And then (the ultimate direction this is heading in) onto an ipod? -

Award for the most Dulwich statement ever! Still worries me that ours will get run over one day. But, to continue the Gimme cat parenting concept, if you love them then you have to let them go... -
...because 40 years ago the biggotted stance being championed by our 'burban colleague was, as he kindly reminds us, more commonplace. The logic of "it's ok for me to spout hateful nonsense because we all used to back in the day and it was ok then" seems to be the justification of choice, in the absence of anything more rational...

Seriously, SteveT, we're doing this AGAIN?! Whole family in need of housing but not from round 'ere blah-sodding-blah... REALLY?! Kel, what are "normal people" exactly, in your estimation? Perhaps you fine citizens demanding this fuct up version of "fair" might investigate the word "humanitarian" instead.

you mention he's into cooking - a lot of nice resturants in london do in-house classes. If you're into that sort of thing, a fun experience at the time and one that's likely to keep on giving. -
July EDF Drinks - Saturday 4th July at The Rye Hotel

We got there at 8.30 to find not another forumite in sight! A few trickled in as the evening progressed... Spent most of the evening chatting to the lovely mr&mrs digitalronin (can't remember what mrs.digitalronin posts as, sorry - bit worse for wear as the evening progressed). Also nice to meet new faces as well as to have a catch up with some old faces later in the evening (moos using a philosophical debate around what constitiutes a good chip to blindside me into letting her steal half my dinner... watch her, she's trouble;-)) -
as much as you're all just joshing, i got gouged on the field years back (well, attempted - I still have my eye). It's fecking painful and extremely dangerous. If i was playing now and felt finger "stroke cheek under eye" i'd instantly let go of the ball and protect my face, even if he "didn't really mean it", and using that to your advantage even if you don't actually intend to scoop out someones eye is a professional foul and unsportsmanlike. Burger was pretty obviously aiming for the eye. he is, therefore, a c&nt, and deserves to be cited.

Sorry to hear of your experiences cc, they sound troubling. But you were given a 60% chance of medication working and when it didn't you're using that as an arguement against all conventional western medicine? Very sorry to hear that too. Any RCT's from reputable centres on the use of a specfic alternative therapy for symptom relief or decreased incidence of acute episode frequency in gout will, i'm sure, be given full attention should they be presented. Otherwise, I think we did this one pretty much to death on the homeopathy thread, so I'll not hijack this thread to rehash the same ground. Let's stick to gout.

Asset Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > most medicine derives originally from a plant > base. Open your minds and the rest > will follow. err... right. perhaps that means that a leather armchair is a waste of money when there are perfectly good cows to sit on. Opening your mind is a wonderful idea but a bullshit filter is a useful addition. The allopurinol forever question is really up to you, benjaminty; a balance between the downside of taking a pill a day forever versus the impact on your life that the attacks are generating. Consider having a chat with your GP about it, maybe diary your gout for a month off it, followed by a month on allopurinol, then look back at the 2 and compare them; this can be a useful way of trying to quantify whether or not it's worth it for you if you're struggling with the decision. Incidentally, as keef has described above, with allopurinol it's not a one-way decision. Otherwise, lifestyle modification is still a good port-of-call, maybe first depending on your preferences. Perhaps explore a low purine diet as well/instead if you feel that it would be less of an imposition on your life. Again, chats with the GP may or may not be fruitful, depending on your GP. Whatever you go for, best wishes for good health in the future.
