  1. When I was around 12 or 13 I nicked a few porn mags from 7-11, until one day I was collared by a tall American former cop who had obviously fallen from grace and was now security at 7-11. He called my mum, and told her what I'd tried to steal... I was so ashamed! :-$ It did get be nuff respek from the lads though >:D<
  2. Strawbs, a good friend of mine had all 4 of hers done in one go a couple of years ago, and she was back to work the next day feeling fine, so fingers crossed you'll get lucky!
  3. I have to admit Paddy's day does my head in a bit. It was fun when I was a student in Liverpool (the Irish dock), but now it just annoys me how everyone goes mad for it, and yet noone raises a pint on April 23rd (or is it 21st? see I know without thinking what 17th March is). Basically it's just Guinness Day.
  4. Gerry that's quite am assumption based on what I wrote. Her parents weren't together, but not for the reasons you suggest. She had lots of things going on, and actually went for CBT when it was the new thing, and it has helped her sort things out for herself.
  5. Maybe it's a scouse thing... I'm joking, but I spent 5 years with a scouse girl who I loved very much, but looking back now, her jealousy was out of game right from the start! She would go insane even if I was chatting to another girl friend of hers, and I have a scar on my nose to prove it. The ironic thing is that I never strayed, and in the end she cheated on me. We were very young (18 - 23) and she has since said sorry for the way she was, and is now happily engaged to a guy she's been with a few years. To be honest I think she did us both a favour, but the psychological battering at the time was a nightmare!
  6. Oi, I seem to remember a text from you after the Inter game saying we'd have to watch the next round together... Are you suggesting I step away from the pub?!?!?!? ::o Not particularly happy with this draw, Man U and Arsenal were the teams I least wanted. That said, I think at this stage we have just as good a chance as anyone, and they will be very tight games! At least we know that if we do manage to overcome Arsenal, we're assured of a place in the final, as knocking Chelsea out is just something that we do! ;-)
  7. Heh heh heh, glad to be of service, and you keep up with the best of them!
  8. Right, we could only get 1 court for next week, so who is going? Obviously don't want to miss it, but there are only 4 spaces, and Mrs Keef and I are obviously a 2, so maybe we should miss out and go for a session in Sydenham next week... Let us know what the score is.
  9. I am doing some weekly exercise (badmintoo) and sticking to it for the first time in a few years.
  10. *Applauds* Takes a big person to write a post like that! Aaaanyway, single parent groups anyone???
  11. That's a very fair point Asset, but the Bishop have a smoking area outback, and it is closed at 10pm. This is only a couple of doors down, so surely the noise from there would travel to the Cherry's neighbours.
  12. Maximay is a bloke. It's not my place to say anything else about him though.

  14. Well isn't this nice, a group of people ganging up on someone. You guys are hard as nails man.
  15. Just to point out that Snorky never said a word against the Black Cherry, he just suspects that the original post may not have been from an unbiased caring punter. I'm wth him. However, it's by the by really, the issue still remains, and no one is saying close down the Cherry!

    A bad thing

Max you are actually spot on, but obviously drink is a nice legal, taxable drug, so we may end up with excess. In another society where drugs were legal and booze wasn't, then your scenario would fit perfectly, and I think I'd still argue for giving the excess away.

    The Budget

People have different uses for this forum, not all will fall in line.
  18. Not July 26th, as I'm planning a big 30th bash that weekend!

Maximay Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Its a forum for crying out loud! you don't have to objectively decipher and analyse everything you post/read on here, you are allowed to just rant (as a lot of people do) sometimes, and he/she should'nt be chastised for doing so. Exactly f**king right, couldn't agree with you more!
  20. Sets of guitar strings!!! It's always the same feckers that break (G and D), and the shop never have singles because everyone else has bought them all because THESE ARE THE STRINGS THAT BREAK MOST!!! So you have to buy a whole new set and replace them all (pain in the arse) even though the other strings are all fine and you only put them on last week!

    A bad thing

Max when people are at this stage of street drinking, they really will find a way, and if they don't, as ratty points out, they can become very ill. Cold Turkey is not a good thing! Now I know it may seem funny to give these people more drink, but surely that's better than letting them lie, cheat, and steal to get the next drink? All one can do is hope that these people will come to a stage where they are ready to fight it... Some will, and some will drink themselves to death, that's the reality of it, but giving them a drink isn't going to make a difference either way in the long run.
  22. Just posted this on one of those threads She has also requested a tutor for her daughter's english work, so what if she gave a heads up to this builder, even if it her husband. I've recommended a plumber on here before who was as good as family, and who has never done any work for me in his life (he's done loads for my mum). I do however know him to be a great plumber, so I made up a little white lie to try and send some business his way. I also know people have used him, and have been told at folum drinks he did a good job, so everyone's a winner! There are so many recommendations on here, and I'd bet money that most of them are for mates or family! Sorry, not trying to start a row, but I don't see the problem here, especially when pubs get to advertise all their events in the "what's on" section. I don't have a problem with that, but it's still free advertising. With the exception of the admin, who works hard on this forum, I really don't see why it gets other people's backs up... Unless of course they are in competition with the accused, and want to put a slur on their name!
  23. Watch is viv, admin will be on to you pretty quickly if you post that in every pub related thread on here!
  24. Oh come on, taking short cuts is all part of the learning experience, and sets kids up nicely for their futures in the work place... Especially if they're going public sector!
  25. Sean you are a bad person, because of you my credit card has just taken a flogging!!! I shall soon be the proud owner of Wire series 1,2 and 4 (I already have 3) and the bloody soundtrack!!!!!!! I only went on there to see how much series 4 cost. Last time I went on there to by a book (as discussed somewhere else), and ended up spending about ?250. I even cut up the credit card, but Amazon has the details stored, it's just too easy and I have exactly NO self control!
