    Trouble at EDT

Well the base camp used to be The Foresters (Now The Bishop). But certain lads have gone around and been barred from most of the local pubs, then they'll come back when the management changes, then they'll get barred again. Biggest fight I ever saw was outside The Vale about 3 or 4 years ago. Started with a bunch of lads and the doormen, but then poor passers by were getting caught in the cross fire. Got rather nasty!
  2. Keef's CPT Allstars :-S I always tend to forget about them and never make any changes, so doubt I'll do very well. The only one I get in to is the monthly chanel 4 game that a bunch of us have been doing for about 3 years now. Annoyngly the same bloke has won every yar, so we're all determined to beat him!

It's not new at all, there are certain people that have been living here years, who are not new to fights. You just haven't seen it in front of you before.

    Quiet room...

*Considers length of guitar strings and realises they're not long enough for a hanging following cruel rejection by Madworld* *Spikes her drink with a nasty laxative and leaves*
  5. Right I'm in, but a rushed team, so will have to go back an change it at some stage... You pick 15 players, you don't have to choose your starting line up do you?

  8. I'm with you Mark, that'll be payday :)-D
  9. Plus the fact that the shop keepers are paying so much rent (apparently), that they may not be able to afford paint..... Not an issue for a DIY shop I admit, but maybe they're doing such good business, they have no paint left for the frontage :-S *Shuts up, as confusing himself*

  11. To be fair James he could have really been sick, or lost someone... I personally can't judge, I love sickies >:D
  12. Brendan Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It fails to mention the dirty great flat blocks > bang in the middle of it. That's a lovelt map. To be fair, it does say "Ladlands flats Dawson's Heights Estate" where the flats would be, but to actually draw them would have people complaining that it ruined the view ;-)
  13. See now that's just a bit nasty! I'm still not sure I can go along with the selfish thing though. One could argue that it's selfish to expect someone to carry on their unhappy life just so you don't have to be sad... I guess it's one of those things that's so awful, whichever way you look at it there are no winners, and there will be a lot of hurt.
  14. Ah, now you mention that, you could always mention Shipman. I however think that he killed himself more out of arrogance than cowardice.
  15. I suspect in a lot of / most cases the person doesn't really think about the people they're leaving behind at all. However, how can people call this selfish?!?!?!? If you're in the sort of place where you're ready to take your own life, you haven't come to that conclusion lightly.
  16. I know that you often have bags and stuff with you as well as a pram, and they can't be folded, which is understandable. However, it really annoyed me yesterday when the doors of my very busy train opened, and this bloke without any "excuse me" just pushed his child's pram on to the train, in to people's ankles. He had no bags with him, and as far as I'm concerned, could have picked his kid up and folded the pram. I may get shot down by parents here, but as far as I'm concerned it was just bloody selfish. Thing is, people were literally thrown off balance because of it, and were clinging to the poles. Had one of them lost balance and fallen in to the pram on to his kid, I bet he would have gone mental at them! For the record, he was a well dressed, city type looking bloke.

Not at all saying this is what's happened in > this sad incident, but identifying with > spadetownboy's comments. I agree that depression isn't always the cause of suicide, but the cowardice thing always annoys me! As far as I'm concerned, it would take a lot of guts to top yourself, and it's not "the coward's way out"!
  18. I'm not convinced Liverpool will be fighting for top spot, hope I'm wrong, but unless Torres strikes up an amazing partnership with Kuyt very quickly, it's just not going to happen.... Yet! I think Man U will be better than last season, and will win again. I think it will be close between Liverpool and Chelsea for 2nd and third, and equally close between Spurs and Arsenal for 4th.... Man U Liverpool Chelsea Arsenal... Of course on the last day of the season we'll all be amazed that we lost out to Everton *shudder*, Villa and Blackburn for the champs league spots! :-S
  19. Exactly right!!!!! I went to the MCG for the Ashes, and after I'd looked around the impressive ground, I sat and read my book for several hours then went home. Cricket is a good game to play, and a nice game to have on in the background whilst drinking in the pub, but going to see it is boring, unless you go with a bunch of mates and have a drink, but as Spadetown says, you're not having fun because you're watching an interesting game! Ladygooner, 2 trophies (of questionable worth) will most likely be what the Arsenal end the season with too ;-)
  20. CrystalClear only mentioned tops as a dig at me... What he doesn't mention is that 1. I regularly outdrink him, even if I am a "pussy boy" (not saying that's a good thing, or that it makes me hard, but if he will question my manhood), and 2. he himself has partaken of several tops in the last couple of weeks because he can't handle a hangover! ;-) Never knew that dash meant cordial.
  21. Your mobile must be crap Sean, I'm doing this on mine ;-) Bigger problem is predictive text making you sound insane if you don't check what you've written first, well me anyway.
  22. Mockney, I have a feeling something happened to that bit of paper. There were a fair few names on it, but it had disappeared last time I looked.... I'll look in to it! Mentioned it to Nathan, and if he can get the time off, he is definitely up for it, and would be a welcome addition to the team I think!
  23. Like the sound of the guitar shop! (well the assistant mainly) ;-)
  24. Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yes, Keef, Malcolm. Very sad. It was an accident. > I'll tell you about it on Friday at the drinks. Yes very sad, and yes do! I'll be sure to tell my old man as well, because I think he's always believed he jumped. They weren't exactly great mates, but think they played a bit of golf, or maybe just drunk in the same circle...
