Schonrock kids and unchaperoned "school run"

Whilst I was writing that, *bob* put it much better than I could, in much fewer words. -
Schonrock kids and unchaperoned "school run"
Keef replied to Alex K's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Probably because they have never in their lives actually been descriminated against, and this allows them to feel like a wronged party, whilst also looking awfully green and "right on". The school appears to have responded in a way that is right and proper, whether or not the kids are indanger, if people have commented / complained to the school, the school is right to act. -
Yes it can be for life if admin wants. It is admin's forum so admin can ban poeple as admin sees fit. Note, I have no idea why the bans were put in place, and I think daizie is proper funny (especially when she has ventured in to the family room once or twice), but people need to realise that admin is not employed by some higher power to impose certain rules. Admin set this forum up, and payed for it. Yes people may donate, but that is an individual choice, and a donation, not a sunscription, so if admin decided they didn't like anyone called Keef, and decided to ban me for life, that would be admin's right. Anyway, about those interesting threads in other sections...

Also worth remembering that the blokes may also be sh!tting themselves, and a night out may be their way of taking their minds off it. But, they should be there for you if you want them to be.

Well perhaps you should point it out to the poeple who were discussing it earlier, to which I responded with an opinion. It's not about being helpful anyway James, it's about a load of poeple on the internet giving their opinion about something which is really none of their business. Just to be clear though, I was not in any way comparing these parents to the McCann's, I was simplyt taking part in an internet discussion, which is all this is. It's really not that important. I had heard something about the law and wheel size, and I think it is good if kids can ride on the pavement legally. -
It changes everything doesn't it!

Someone said they ride the bikes on the pavement, but isn't this against the law? Petty perhaps, but law nontheless. Just noticed there was some discussion earlier about the McCanns. Always found them to be very very odd people, trying to deflect guilt away from themselves* by whipping up such a huge media storm. *Not suggesting they are guilty of anything sinister, but the fact is, what happened was completely avoidable had they been more responsible. -
Your house is going to be proper tidy by a week tomorrow! >:D< Said my bit in my PM, but KateW & Smiler seem to be spot on!

Agreed Quids, there have been a few really cracking rows in that section! Cheers legalbeagle. That proves the necessity for this thread, I would have totalle ignored that thread, and even now I'm 8 pages late.

Not sure I can give an example of where it's effected recruitment, but I know of several where it has stopped people from fostering kids. Still, do we get rif of all the red tape and make life easier just because it hasn't been an issue so far. Do you not think that people might not bother trying for a job, knowing that this would stop them from getting it? If you're a danger to kids, but you know that noone is going to check your CRB, you might be more likely to apply for that post as a teaching assistant. PS. My wife works at Thomas' too (nothing to do with this, just thought I'd say)

Schonrock kids and unchaperoned "school run"

Bugger, only just seen this thread. One of the kids was 5, that is too young IMO. I walked to school on my own from quite an early age, but not 5. Cycling to school at 5 is insane. As for "Social Services sent on their way", would you have them not look in to anything just because they thought it sounded a bit silly? They are doing their job, which is right and proper (but will soon be cut no doubt, so it won't be an issue will it). Buggie made a very good point (also back on page 1), that had these kids been run over, there would be uproar, and people would probably be demanding that they be taken away from their parents! (which would be a gross overreaction, but that is the nature of these things). Sorry if I'm repeating stuff, I've not bothered reading all 8 pages. -
I thought I'd start this, as I very rarely bother looking in the General ED issues bit fo the forum, as when I do, there is usually little that interests me. HOWEVER (and it's a big however), I have missed such gems as the Squatters on Goose Green, and the deleted (very quickly) CPT Quiz thread), so I'd ask you all, if there is a thread worth reading, with the possibility of a good old disagreement, or laugh, can you please point it out here, so I can go and find it, and make my work days that much more interesting. There is currently a good one about a 25 year old former Dulwich College student who got kicked in by some yoots. That is not funny. Some of the comments on the thread are. Cheers.

Just to make you feel a bit better, my daughter constantly pulls my hair, she pulled an earring out of my ear the other day, and I ended up in A&E a couple of weeks ago when she scratched my eye, and my sight was all blurred for a week. We call her Thuggins. She does occasionally allow me to give her a cuddle, but most of the time she is wiggling out of my arms, so she can do more mischief! -
How do you know? CRB checks are a pain, I'll be the first to admit that, but then again, they are no more a pain than filling in a passport application. As someone who works with vulnerable adults, and children, I'd say they are necessary. Scale them back too much, and there will be some horrible story that will have huge tabloid headlines, then be brought up in parliment, then they'll reintroduce them. That's the problem, the tabloids are the biggest pressure group there is in making our laws.

I'm not sure we'll ever afford to buy, just weren't sensible when we were in our 20s, saved nothing, and so here we are renting. However, we rent a place in Sydenham with a lovely little garden, on a quiet, leafy street, and it costs us ?500 or more less per month than it would in ED. Everything I could want from ED is just down the road, but I actually much prefer it up the hill, just seems a bit mor leafy.

All I meant was that we hacve a girl, so are used to a girl, so the thought of having a boy is a bit scary. I am sure that had we had a boy, I'd find the thought of a girl a bit scary. -

Poor Emille, he was one of England's best players (and I'm not saying he was good). If you add moast of the England team to that list, I'm in. -
Let's rewrite the rules of football........The Penalty Goal - Proposal # 1

But people have missed shots from even a couple of yards out. You donb't know that the player would have scored, however likely it may be. -

We have a daughter, and when I see friend's little boys, I can't imagine having one. Ewually though, my friend said he couldn't imagine having a daughter. I always thought one of each would be nice, but to be honest, I think as and when we have another, we'll be quietly hoping for a girl. -
Mrs Keef sometimes takes our daughter to bab swimming sessions at the bridge, which she loves, but it is a bit of a pain to get to on the bus if like us, you're not drivers. I mis Water Palace in Croydon (Purley Way), it was open in the 90s when I was a teenager. Had loads of different water slides, wave machines, a rapids thing that you went around in rubber rings. Those were the days!

I like Spain, but haven't been overly impressed. They need to up their game to stand a chance against this Germany team.
