  1. I know what you're saying, and would agree with you if we lived in an ideal world, but we don't. The simple fact is that public housing stock is way too low. Yes Thatcher sold a load, blah blah blah, whatever,it was over 20 years ago. In the here and now, we have very limited housing, and it shouold be used for those who genuinely need it most. I am no Tory, and I agree with all the points being made, that we need more housing, and there should be housing for all, but there just isn't, so we do need to look at who is living in the limited housing we do have. Even the nice blocks in places like Greenwich, built as affordable housing for keyworkers. Do you really think that they are full of keyworkers? A lot of them are full of people that have played the system, and are taking the p!ss. I know that is a different think to public housing, but the problem is the same.
  2. No, it's because it would make absolutely o fecking difference either way.
  3. I totally agree there needs to be more public housing. My gripe is that once a family is in a council house, it is felt that it can automatically be passed down to the next generation. This to me is wrong. Yes there should be housing for everyone, but there isn't, so what we do have should be used for those who need it most.
  4. I may be joining your ranks soon...
  5. It's online Mrs Keef is in a few pics, I'm just in one. Not the best photos, but still something to show bubba when she's bigger.
  6. Ha, could you imagine? I ca't really see that being allowed, but thank you for the vote of confidence. Equally I think you'd be very good.
  7. A colleague of mine came in to work yesterday with her lovely new baby girl, and she handed me the Pregnancy Book that she'd been issued when pregnant, saying "there is a bloke in there who looks just like you". I looked, and sure enough, there is me and Mrs Keef. When we were in hospital (having gone in for induction), waiting for something to happen on a Monday morning, the ward manager came and asked if we'd pose for some photos, in exchange for some Sainsbury's vouchers. We said yes, as it was something to do. Now I wish I'd had more than an hours sleep, combed my hair, and worn something other than my "to the pub" t-shirt!!! Still, it paid for the shopping that week. EDITED: Because the N key on my laptop seems to be sticking.
  8. That story seems to go agaist what the BBC are saying. I don't really care who the new owners are, as long as it's run well, and the debt is sorted.
  9. At least Louisa is fun.
  10. To be fair though, he probably gets a fair few bucks at Liverpool anyway.
  11. I live in Sydenham, and I love fried chicken! I also heard from a door knocker before the election, that Waitrose were interested in the old Greyhound site, but he even said at the time that it was only interest, nothing concrete. Not being funny, but Croydon has a Waitrose, more or less next to a chicken shop. Maketh the area it does not! To be fair to Louisa though, plenty of people on this forum have said in the past they'd love a Waitrose or an M&S.
  12. Yes of course, and I wasn't trying to be funny. I just think it is good the way the FRM has used a seperate login for Moderation, so they can still post as "themself". It keeps the moderating bit nice and seperate, and stops people from pointing fingers at the individual. I can think of one or 2 I'd definitely nominate.
  13. Although it should be pointed out that the moderator should remain unbiased, just as the current FRM has done.
  14. I'm guessing girls are nop longer drinking that vile strawberry 20/20 stuff... Maybe a selection of alcopops?
  15. Torres gives Liverpool the news they desperately wanted. This is actually turning in to quite a good summer, I feel excited about a season again, which to be honest, I didn't really last year.
  16. I liked Rafa, but he's gone, and I want to see Hogson do well, as I think he seems a nice honest chap. Plus I agree that Rafa probably never would have managed to get Joe Cole.
  17. Hope the Liverpool story is true. Any owner would be better than the current clowns. Wonder if Hogson would have a job for very long if it happened though.
  18. Great film, but agree with *bob* really.
  19. Big congrats to Jeremy, who got married on Saturday! A very dapper groom, and a beautiful bride.
  20. To be fair to the OP, I have seen fights outside the EDT whilst driving past quite late after playing gigs elsewhere, and I have definitely seen people being sick. But, as Georgia says, this is London, and it's not even that much of a suburb really (Sidcup is a suburb), so it is going to be busy, and if you live on, or close to a High Street, you're going to get noise. Having said that, I'm not sure I'd agree that a bar needs to open til gone 2am on a Sunday.
  21. Barclays cash machines!!! They give you options, one of which is "cash WITHOUT receipt". You choose this option, you ask for whatever amount you want, then it asks if you'd like a fecking receipt with you cash. No, I just want my bloody money!!!!
  22. What *bob* said (mainly because he doesn't like that term)
  23. East Dulwich has never been a village, or felt like a village. Dulwich Village doesn't even feel like a village quite frankly. Sean is right in saying that from the Palmerston down to Goose Green is not nice on Fri/Sat nights. I'm not sure how much underage drinking goes on though. I feel a bit old these days when I look at an 18 year old having a pint, but to be fair, it is legal, and I was one of them once upon a time. Drugs? Not sure how much of it goes on, I'd imagine there is a fair bit of snorting going on, but to be fair, Tne Foresters used to be a well known place to get coke, The Bishop is not, so surely that is an improvement. I'm amazed Stab & Wine doesn't get raided on a weekly basis though!
  24. So Sunday 15th August, Brockwell Park. Sweet!
  25. Tweed ones.
