And indeed why would you? And I disagree, I think she just made a comment after it daned on her that there may be people out there who are not so lucky. That is not to say anyone should feel guilty, it just struck me as thoughtful.

No worries Narnia, yes I was talking about the post, not the original subject of the thread. BB100, I agree with you, but it is difficult to know what is best, and easy to say social services do nothing. I suspect that is not the case.

Who is she anyway? To be fair, from her first tweet I'd have assumed she was more concerned about the nappy changing, which to be fair, a lot of people would be. It's a shame she mentioned the breast feeding, as they've obviously grabbed that and made it the biggest part of the story. Her later tweet She doesn't really come across as anti breastfeeding, and again, the nappy thing is her main concern. Just another thing that has been jumped on by over sensitive, or over aggresive people looking for a ruck where there is none to be had. The only thing that should concern anyone is her use of the English language!

I don't think new mother was trying to make anyone feel guilty, she had just spared a thought for those less fortunate. A couple of years ago, there was a thread in the Lounge (before the Family Rom was born), called why having kids is the best thing ever. Noone in that thread had said anything bad, but I hated every single one of them, and some of them were people that I consider friends in real life.

Waterloo Sunset is a good one. Some woman did a cover in the 90s, may have been Cathy Dennis, but I thought she did a nice job with it, similar to Kirsty MacColl's version of Days.

What quids said. I remember plenty of violence between kids of this sort of age, but a stabbing was a BIG thing, and you'd all hear about it, but now it's just an every day thing. The willingness to confront adults is also much more common, back in my day (only the early 90s), it was teens mugging teens.

Out of interest, what do you think would be appropriate action from Social Services in these circumstances?

Christina Aguilera has got an amazing voice. I'm not really a fan of most of her music, but she's had the odd song I like, like "Fighter". Anyone who thinks she's just another bubblegum pop princess is not listening to her though, the girl can sing!

Well Spain deserved to win last night, although I do feel sorry for a good German team (did I just say that?). Not sure I'll be supporting either in the final, as I'd be happy with either winner. Should be a good final though (hopefully). I am shocked at you Anna!!! ;-)
