  1. You're right of course, and it has gotten the publicity they want, so as a piece of PR, it's grand. BUT They are hurting the "little people". I am sure they would claim that these garage owners have blood on their hands too, as they always try to justify their bu!lshit like that, but at the end of the day, what they are doing will have little or no impact on BP, but will be a right pain for some small business owners.
  2. Did I hear mention of the CPT? Well then, I think I may well attend this one! (especially if Giggirl is going to be there, as she is top of my "forumites I most want to meet" list).
  3. I agree with David. Yes, that's right, I agree with David!
  4. I was going to let this thread slip down the list, but being as someone else has posted today, I'll reply to Lig. Lig, I think the problem with the way you've posted on this thread has been that it is unclear what your beef is. If it was that someone was smoking, and potentially putting their "precious cargo" *gags* at risk, that is one thing. But, several of your posts suggest that what bothers you more, is simply that this lady was smoking in public, and that smoking is not as socially acceptable as it once was. That is what I have found difficult to understand, as they are surely two very seperarte issues.
  5. Mr Ben has it right IMO. I've nothing against the iphone, but my phone does all the useful things that Sean mentions, and I have only ever seen one app for the iphone that I'd spend money for (a musical tuner).
  6. No, that was also the athletics stadium. My mistake. I've seen a few classical concerts there. Crystal Palace Park as a whole is a bit depressing. It is a beautiful park, with a wonderful sense of history, but there is something very grubby about it. That's what comes of a tory council controlling it I guess.
  7. Didn't Coldplay play there a few years ago? I'm sure I remember seeing signs for it.
  8. I do agree to a point that some prams are stupidly large. We were given a Greco travel system pram when our daughter was first born, and it was like a tank. No need for it (we didn't use it for long). Regarding bus conductors, I agree that it was good when they were about. But, the routemasters wre not exactly spacious, and there certainly wasn't a space to have a pram (unless folded and kept in the little area under the stairs). Moos makes a good point though, drivers can't wait to pull away from stops, and it can be very dangerous, especially when trying to hold a little one.
  9. Loving this confidence from Spurs fans.
  10. This should please West Ham fans. I'd like to see him at Liverpool if (when) Mascha goes to Inter, but it looks like West Ham want to stop being a selling club. Good for them.
  11. This is what I don't really get about your arguments Lig. You're right, smoking was probably a lot more popular in the 90s than it is now, but why does this make a difference to you? Are you annoyed that a woman smoked whilst pregnant? In which case her "moral crime" would have been just as great in the 90s as it is now. Public opinion on smoking should have absolutely nothing to do with it. I'm not being unfriendly or nasty here Lig, I am just trying to make sense of things.
  12. Iphone has never appealed to me. Plus I have 12.1mp camera. Count 'em losers.
  13. I have nothing to hide with regards the fact I smoke. It is not big or clever, but I am not ashamed of it, and I take great care to keep it from annoying others who don't smoke. I have no idea who has sent you a PM about me (if indeed they did). I can only guess that it may be based on THIS RECENT THREAD, in which I said If from that, someone has decided that I smoke around pregnant women and children, then words escape me, but you can think what you like about me, I'll lose no sleep over it. That is all very true, but it still does not give you the right to go and tell a stranger off on the street.
  14. I am a smoker, but the rest of that comment if offensive bu!l sh!t. Not surprising though.
  15. It would still be a lot more harmful than smoking a fag.
  16. We just got a Maci Cosi Loola, and it is great!
  17. Down a bottle of vodka everyday. Smoke a few fags every day. Which one do you think will make you ill first? Yes I am for real.
  18. My daughter used to lap up Calpol, but recently had some horrid antibiotic, that tasted of aniseed, and it has put her off anything in a spoon or syringe. What has worked quite well with Calpol is mixing it in a strawberry Petit Filous, as they are not very big, so it's easy to make sure she gets the whole lot. I know they have sugar in them and are not ideal, but frankly, I'd rather her feel better than worry about what she eats. As an aside, what sort of idiot decided that aniseed was a good flavour for a medicine. Surely it's one of those flavours that you love or hate, they may as well do Marmite flavoured medicine!
  19. I'm a bit confused. So what if vodka is legal. Do you really think that downing a bottle is comparable with smoking a fag? This thread is insane, because people are not listening. I don't know how many times it has been said, but I will say it again... NO ONE IS SAYING THAT SMOKING WHEN PREGNANT IS GOOD FOR THE BABY, OR PARTICULARLY ADVISABLE!!!!!! BUT... Please stop talking like it is some sort of evil crime. My mum has never smoked, yet I have asthma. Wow, this clearly proves something.... Oh wait, no it doesn't. As for talking about miscarriages, I think that is just crass, and inconsiderate to those who may have been through it.
  20. If a miscarriage is going to happen, it's going to happen. I don't think smoking a fag makes any difference really.
  21. Says who? Certainly not most o the people on here, or your husband. Do you know what, now I really hope you are just trolling for a bit of fun, because if this is really your opinion, I despair.
  22. I don't think a suggestion of trolling was nasty. You seemed to have stopped posting at the time, and I thought it seemed like a clasic case of Light the touch paper Fan the fire early on to get it going Sit back and enoy the flames Perhaps I was mistaken, and you're serious, in which case I apologise for suggesting it was trolling, but I don't apologise for any of my other posts, and don't think any of them were nasty, unpleasant, or personal. The simple facts are Smoking is not good for you. Smoking when pregnant is not GOOD for the baby, but probably isn't really harmful either, unless you're smoking heavily. What you choose to do is absolutely your choice, and you shouldn't be confronted in the street by a stranger.
  23. If you show me where I have been nasty or unpleasant, I'll apologise. I used the word nutter, which is what I'd think if told off by a stranger.
  24. The OP has also stopped posting, after a super bit of trolling. 10/10.
  25. HeidiHi, what you describe is absolutely disgusting, and good for you for saying something. I hope the guy has had the kid taken off him if that is how he behaves. HOWEVER... What you desribe, is a million miles from someone smoking a cheeky fag whilst up the duff.
