Well Sue I guess if they were in wild places, they could become a massive nuisance, like I have seen in Wales, where they are trying to control them. Did you ever see any when you travelled in the exotic places you have seen. I think they are very colourful and have always taken lots of photographs for my reference, portfollio.

I didnt know that Narnia,so I guess you have to be a member to play. But it is good old tradition kept alive, and if you have to be a member, I,m sure they will take care of the facilities. Sadly I have never played, I just thought the boat money was needed for the maintainance. The boat hire is steep, but I think half an hour is a bit mean, people would be more inclined to hire if it were an hour.

If they never earned money on the boats, they would not be able to upkeep the bowling green. It does need a special groundsman for the grassed lawn. But it is a pleasant park, albiet it has gone down hill since the early nineties. Not so many Rhodedendrams has there used to be.

How can we improve our community
Tarot replied to hislordshiplane's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Did anyone else see on the t,v a few weeks back, the young offenders serving community service quite locally. You had to admire the way they had learnt to machine.and make things to sell for the local hospice in a charity shop. They were big strapping lads,so it made it more amazing. So well done to the lads and whoever thought of actually teaching them instead of just telling them they are only fit to play drums and sing. Lots of people have untapped talent no matter how humble it is,it should be nurtured. If people could donate things.of any use to"Youth Develpement"and the coucils allocated workshops, and give some kind of recognition of achievement,it could even rival Duke of Edinborough Awards.under each borough. A stagnant mind is like static electricity. -
What a blessing, Best wishes to you wife and daughter Sean.

I think system of punishment should change. Offenders that cannot read, should be given the chance to improve their life by being taught, and not released until they have mastered it,except in certain medical conditions, The incentive could be an early release on their succsess.. Computers and games, tv should be removed from prisons, and more attention to lifestyle changes given/ Any sign of close groups should be broken up, and constant moving from one task to another, should be implied, with work and skills for life training. Plenty of varied excercise and gardening. Give a man a skill, you make him a somebody, Being left to rot isnt healthy.Religous beliefs should be,kept privately in their cells. Only a suggestion. But goverments will say as usual..No money. -
Man stabbed to death near East Dulwich station
Tarot replied to louisiana's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
There is a gang in East Dulwich called The Duppies who posted themselves rapping on You tube, bragging about how violent they were, then someone put it on this forum. It appears the young black youth have no interest in life, other than being a gang member who carries weapons, and wants to emulate Los Angeles Ganksters. There songs, even computer games reflect aggression. How they are getting guns is a lack of customs or police attention. They are supposed to be checking airports and ports for weapons,so how are guns in the hands of fluff faced little boys, who kill people to show off. Some people may say,its racist, all I can say is. It is the police who have set up a Trident squad for black crime. They should bring back borstals. -

There is unrest in most parts of the world, as we are seeing this past two weeks. The divide between rich and poor as never been more so obvious. The show of wealth by middle class people and celebrities is sickening,to people who are struggling to make ends meet. Then to attack them by taking away things like health care, education, pensions, homes. The cost of living ,travel and fares. This is how the Russian, and the French revolutions began,by those in power lording over the people. Now they want to take lands and forests, that were gifted to the people. The people are waking up all over, old dictatorships are over. Lets hope they will have democracy better than we have, we cannot even have referendoms on issues about Europe. or a vote of no confidence in this bi-govermentThey probably want to sell wood to China and India.

The Hamlets football club, should not be having late night parties. What as that got to do with football,a football club should be promoting a healthy lifestyle,do they have a drinks licence. There was a time they were going to sell that sight to build a Homebase on. As for Sainsburys car park on this forum alone people have reported muggings and car thefts, let alone the actual stabbing in the store last year. Police are a detterent, and as D.J.K Q said they could stop and search and save lives. There should have been some form of security at the Hamlets club. This happened in our locality, so it is in our interest to discuss it, I dont consider it yabber yabber. -
I have contributed to various "Save the forest" schemes. So what are you supposed to believe now they are doing this, are there scams everywhere. I know a woman who was dedicated to collecting stamps for the blind dogs charity, untill it was revealed on t,v. that the organisation that ran it was making loans from the fund to workers who wanted a deposits for houses. After that she stopped collecting. Millions gave money when Diana died, all they managed was that stupid water thing in the park, and a pirate boat A giant maze would have represented her life better. Profiteering everywhere,I for one will think twice about trying to save the forests. Why cant the National Trust buy the forest rather than yet another country estate. Symbols of Class Divide.

There is not enough police in East Dulwich,it has been quite some time since there has been any constables walking the beat around this area. I have seen a police helicopters that mainly circle for ages.but that is all. To blame Sainsburys is ridiculous. That area is well known locally for drug dealing, and has been for ages, but it is not policed enough. Condolences to the family. -
The Romanies I have met while painting at a fairground on a carousel often talked to me about"their roots" they were told by word of mouth by their families, that they had been here from before the middle ages. There roots were Rome, having gone their as early Christians as slaves. They managed to escape to Europe,And coloured their skins with wild berries to disquise themselves as a nomadic tribe, they called themselves Gypsies, and reaching Britain they travelled with the actors and fairs and sold things and told fortunes. I found this very informative for my studies. The young boy in BGW knew who he was, a traveller. They used to be called Pikeies, before P.C.

On the forum David, you can be as bonkers as you want, its part of the craic. What I meant by "those people" is the tenents that would be thrown out, nothing sinister in it,just you looking for malice. Have you never heard of the saying "for the want of a nail",this could be the same for the clock. A bit of imagination and humour is needed to understand. Eric Cantana would have picked it up straightaway.
