  1. The clock was a local landmark,I do hope it will return. The removal of the clock looks ominous to me,has it beeen sold on somewhere. We know this goverment has an agenda for the libraries, but does that include Knocking them down and building these sqaut little houses on them. Every available space in East Dulwich is being built on,it will soon resemble China towns with no spaces at all. We know they want to remove tenants from Westminster and boroughs like that, and the Elephant development,so are we going to be flooded by those people. It might be a exagerated but the clock may be the tip of the iceberg.
  2. If you think women should be treated like they are fine, its your perogative.
  3. whiskey
  4. Here in my heart-Al Martino
  5. Was your early reading Mills and Boon.you have a very romantic view about young people, its not the real world though is it. When those gypsy girls get married, they will probably be threatened not to flaunt themselves in front of men and never dress that way again. The end of the fairytale for them. Your view of this little shangrila impedes progress. Your idea is they are happy with their lot and no one should interfere. Sounds like pond life and you are the sympathetic superior. They allowed cameras to film them, therfore putting their lifes up for comparisans.
  6. booked.
  7. No I would show them a different way ,of how they could be better than Vicky Pollard type girls, and rise to a more intellectual level. The programme is a good measure for young girls, who with a bit of nous would think,Good God I.d hate to be like them. Maybe if you had gone to a Appleby fair, you would be enlightened.
  8. point
  9. They could sell refreshments too like in Sainsburys.
  10. I see you see these girls at animal level "find a mate" at sixteen! They would be better off dressing to find work become independent, and see there was more to living than getting married.
  11. Stand by me-Ben E King
  12. index
  13. Well the clocks gone already pugwash, maybe someones taking all the good things from different areas and putting them where they can impress all the "Games tourist" Years ago there were hundreds of items in Greenwich museam then by the early sixties they were all removed and put in British museam instead.
  14. I have watched the programme L,D. The girls in that programme look like pole dancer rejects. What parents would like their very young chaste daughter to go out like that. The fathers are more interested in making deals and selling horses. The whole male society of that culture treat their women the same as they treat horses.
  15. waiting
  16. They are not Romany gypsies though are they, more travellers, and why someone would say they were chaste. I would think chaste young girls would not dress like they do.
  17. Dag is a farming word for all the crap that is on the backend of a sheep,a word used widely in Australia. In seventies London slang it was used as a degrotary term for easy woman of low intelligence.the word having the "o" removed and replaced with "a"..
  18. When you smile-Shawaddy waddy.
  19. Sister
  20. There is also "Dylon Dyes" online.
  21. It semms to me you would not have picked a conditioned simple woman for a wife anyway Fabrico. You also seemed to be concerned about actors, are you working in the media. My opinion stands. You yourself have already accused women of feminising the work place, and lowering wages as a result.what an odd view that is, maybe slightly sexist even.
  22. There is a lot of truth there. As you say if a women is oppressd by a man,and has no right to have her own money.or even a say in if she works or where she lives.then she is dominated. Many women have stayed and accepted their lot, through lack of money although some have saved up and had good help from caring people and have been able to start a new life of freedom and contentment. That also depends if the bully husbands let them have their children to take with them. So you could say blackmail also binds them. Its sad, I have seen so many women treated like doormats so feel someone has to speak up for them. Watching programmes on tv like that one, just reinforces some peoples image of women as stupid. Most of the blokes know why they watched it,for the half dressed Dags. Its simple to me.
  23. Maybe if they put a few computers in them,,like one of those shops,an area to work quietly printers, and a picture developing section alongside the many books. it would pull more feet in the places. The libraries could open four days a week, maybe shut a bit earliar. Saving losing them altogether. As for Grove library, older folk use these places a lot and I dont think its fair to expect them to travel up the hill. I did notice people wanted the posh one left open. tch tch.

    Lightbulbs

Exactly Minkturtle. they should lead by example,it seems stupid to have dim lights while half of Londons is lit up all night. The high glow of the south bank of a night can be seen from where I live. It probably wouldnt benifit our bills either. Have they altered the emissions of gas on the fridges yet. I bought a washing machine that washes at low temratures,I have seen no change in the electric bill, and now on the adverts they are saying, you cannot kill germs at low tempratures. I think they all have ulterior motives. something to do with their phony reports of whose been the best country for saving the planet.Yeah loks like they(goverments) are making a right B++++++s of it.and expect us to vote for them portraying they are earth Angels. Time for tea I think.
  25. I haven,t said a word Sean:)
