These power cuts are usually in rotation, with every other street in the dark. I think they are just saving electricity so they can still light up the city centre. A rotten thing to do to people in this kind of weather. I think we should all have rebates, big time for this kind of inconvieniance. They dont put out any warning, just shut you down. no heat,no lights no hot water for a drink. Then they still charge us. No apology. Someone should investigate why this happens every winter. the profits they are making ,we should be getting better service. The swines.

Dont forget them in this weather. Put scraps out, old bread, bacon rinds,cheese bits,museili, if you have no bird seed or nuts.

If you smell gas, then call the gas company. They will be helpful.

Hi James, is there any sort of council aid going on for the elderly and infirm. The councils could look at their list of tenants who may need aid. Then at times like this they could use those little tractor trucks to see them,and make sure everything is in order. Cost money but Im sure funds like help the aged would see an increase in donations. This should be a permanent fixture.with a list drawn up in each borough. It would be a lot cheaper than hospitals full and ambulances called out. What do you think. Say Aye:))

What are boarding schools anyway but places where kids are dumped, on the pretext they are having a good education. They will probably speak nice, know lots of facts, go on to better education. But later in life they will have to, be told how hard their parents at to work to put them through their education. Then when they find someone to settle down with they cant, because they never had any home life. Some. are even abused ,one way or another. Others families ,just about get their kids through the high fee paying schools, living above their means,and a very broken child at the end of it. To find out your parents finances are not up to the airs and graces they have portrayed. One bitter person at the end of it all. Rather be a salt of the earth Londoner, feet on the ground.

I agree with you Quids. No articles from the B.B.C, are anything to go by anyway. Happiness is felt not measured anyway. Its money wasted,and could be put to more practical use.
