  1. I bet your kids dont get sweets off of you Mockney, low tolerance level. Strafer I must admit I never thought of bridges being short I dont travel by train a lot,but think of the work created if they could start building bigger ones. I hate commuting on trains, never works out well, and I,m mainly a miserable martyr with a touch of the Jack Dees. Frankito I havent got outside yet Hughnots banned the sweets, and Mockneys put me in a padded room:X
  2. They could get those double decker trains, that they have in some countries to ease the crowding, but we are not worthy so we wont get them. has anyone been on a double deck train.
  3. We all have flaws Strafer.I gather you have not been thrown while standing on a crowded bus driven by a physcho driver, or stood next to a unwashed oink on a train all squashed together. Of course its logical to wear a safety belt in a car,and you could be fined without one,but the concern for safety does not apply to commuters. Frankito bad boy ,Ill see you in the playground by the naughty room.
  4. Its good to have a wild spot in your garden, but you dont seem to see many nettles these days which butterflys like to lay their eggs on.But recently in East Dulwich there have been a variety of buterflies. The very large patterned brown and black one ,little brown ones, and the little blue ones simliliar to the old Camberwell Blue. But there was one iwas watching the other day,it appeared to be a fluffy looking orange colour like a fishermans fly.but just before I could get a better look a wood pigeon swooped down and ate it.plenty of cabbage whites though, and the bees are abundant on the Lavender, there are plenty of the larger Ladybirds flying around so there are less aphids about.
  5. They bite more in the evening, but it is the season for breeding insects like gnats and mosquitos, and those big horseflys, who jump up when you walk on the long grass. They give a very nasty bite some people have to have antibiotics after an allergic reaction to them. The females like blood when they are breeding. In Scotland near the lochs it is horrendous for mozzies. Get repellents, try eau de cologne or Lavender.and cover up if you have to be near these ares. Like the Minky said look for stagnant water containers this is where they breed but if you have a pond in your garden and they like biting you get rid of the pond.
  6. No,one, considers the safety, of people, standing, on, a ,packed ,bus,. Why? because ,fare money, is all they are ,interested in,.same with trains,. Feel free to correct my text, you amazing academics,....
  7. Its such a perfect day-Lou Reed.

Give it a miss.
  15. Pokey
  16. I am used to seeing them now,it was dark at night when I first saw it and it was a bit unerving. The one on the corner further up the hill I thought was a fox. Good topiary really just in the wrong places.
  17. Whoever was responsible for putting the topiary dogs on dog kennel hill, they would have been better in a park, not on the highway. When i first saw them passing in the car,I thought it was a dog about to run on the road very distracting and dangerous.

    Olympic lanes

Does anyone know when and where the olympic road lanes will be laid, and how much the fines will be for going in them. Its amazing how much exspense and disruption this ancient spectacle has caused. The people that are suffering just for a handful of medals, they could have done the games without all the razzmatazz.

    Eurozone

Anyone remember when shops used to give families tick, letting them have goods to pay back the following week, When friday came they paid their bill and had nothing left to get any groceries and the shopkeeper gave them more tick, never ending circle of debt. This is how the eurzone is operating now, they will never be able to pay the loans back, austerity measures we all ready had those in the fifties. I cant remember us having a bail out from euro funds, so why have we got austerity measures, and where was how refund Thatcher and Blair was supposed to have sorted out. Conservatives will not be in goverment again for decades to come, the most heartless and unfeeling cabinet of men since Hitlers third reicht, hitting the old disabled and poor, because their Euro masters have more clout than them. coalition Libs are just glove puppets. The real people will not vote for them ever again.
  21. Cor that was close, wont take the offer up now.
  22. Does anyone know if footsies run their bootsale anymore at Sydenham, the forums are so outdated.
  23. So the origional peppers were from Chile then. kas my friend? wants me to try a Dorset Naga, curry, not knowing what this is, and not a fan of chillies also my other mate has ulcers ,would you think it would be ok to eat or is restraunter friend having a bubble.
  24. My friend who is Indian and used to work in a restaurant back in the seventies was discussing chillies.and he reckons that chillies were never used in curries until the eighties. It became popular because Friday night drunks used to roll in and demand the hottest vindyloos they had and to sate that need they started adding chillies. Also he said chillies were not grown in India or Scotland, so the scottish bonnet does not exist, and chillies came from south America., he also said less and less people are asking for chillies in his restaurant and pallettes are getting more refined.
