There are two lime green long tailed parrots flying around the North cross road area,very noisy birds. Did hear a while back that there were some peregrine Falcons nesting in London. We did have a Heron land in the garden once,it looked very tired and suddenly every local bird it seemed flew down and attacked it,causing it to fly off,at least it had a drink. The largest bird I saw was a giant eagle owl, a man had on a chain in LL Lane, beautiful creature.

I saw a very large bird flying around Goose green way yesterday,it looked like a Buzzard.but like Sue I wondered,but there have been these strange weather and hot air currents. I know Wimbledon has brought a bird in to deter pigeons, but I dont know what it is,maybe thats lost its way.

Maybe Sue, but his still fit and singing ,birds usually spit out things they dont like. The chip was a dropped one,not part of my usual menu for birds.

Blackbirds will be down on the lawns when it rains listening for worms,but if you have decking you will hardly see any if you have a bird table try putting some mealworms on it.they love them. Soon come July most blackbirds will fly to woods etc as most birds go in moult this time of year. Robins and blackbirds, and wrens will usually feed on the ground or occasionly off a bird table. Woodpeckers love old rotting trees. Planting berry type plants will always attract birds, Hawthorn, Holly,pyracanthus, cherry treees ,apple etc. some birds get water from flower buds.or peck your vegtables too,I have a blackbird who likes grapes and chips. All good.
