  1. Brendan - did you mean import duty into the ED enclave??
  2. I think everyone should take a deep breath - and I have to admit I thought the jokes were funny, despite the fact the robbery probably wasn't.
  3. dukesdenver Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Anything in the 'Tragic Life Stories' section at > Smiths. Glad to see someone else who finds all the child abuse tragedy books a bit disturbing.
  4. That must have been horrible
  5. Is a rich old uncle I never knew about to leave me a fortune in his will.
  6. Feeling better this morning - sorry DM not sure if it's still catching and besides even though I appear to have lost a few pounds I have been left with very unattractive burst blood vessles all over my face from violently spewing my guts up. Not sure if you'd be better off economising and going for the colonic instead.
  7. Yeh some dodgy bits in Isiah about slavery!
  8. For amoral people with no concience, like me, the ancient text in question has been quite a good place to start developing a concience.
  9. I feel soooo sick
  10. Yes but Jah, how many times have we all been turned over by the banks?
  11. SeanMG - this site has some info on bloodless surgery. I thought they must be nuts to refuse blood in surgery but after seeing some of the evidence (not neccessarily on the site I posted) it turned out that other fluid replacement and methods of boosting and conserving your own blood are actually safer and lead to shorter recovery times too. Even tho I don't agree that blood should be refused on a biblical basis, i would say I was a JW just to get the better option of bloodless surgery.
  12. thanks mike - got my big sick bowl next to the bed tho, more eco-friendly.
  13. They probably would, but maybe their big brother/uncle/son might be less forgiving!
  14. I just find it wierd when different types of Christians take or leave whichever bit of the bible suits them, but something as fundamental as what happens after we die, or who gets to go to heaven etc seems wierd to gloss over. I am an anglican pretty much, but find it interesting to see what other denominations are saying.
  15. I might try to give up swearing - effing and blinding in a solicitors office is not always well received!
  16. It's also mentioned in Isiah and some other bits too, so is kind of wierd that other Christian denominations ignore that bit.
  17. But it's in the bible SeanMc - so why is it that only the JW's seem to be aware of it? Are the rest of Christendom sleeping?
  18. Haha, short but succinct!
  19. Haha, that's the spirit!
  20. Yep, so you better start getting your lives in order you heathens.
  21. I managed to keep the horrible flu that was doing the rounds at bay but have been struck down by the vomitty bug, so please entertain me from my sickbed EDFers.
  22. I got raspberry bushes from LIDL - 3 for ?2.50. I'll let you know if they grow anything and you can have a cutting when I have to prune them.
  23. The Jehova's witnesses also beleive that the heavenly 144,000 will govern the new improved earth and all the ones who don't get into heaven and who aren't evil etc get to live in harmony on the paradise earth. They showed me, and it does actually say so in the bible.
